Clair Family

What an Eventful Week!

This week has been one busy yet fun week.  The following is just an outline of what we have done and will be doing for the rest of the week.

On Saturday Me and the kids drove to Price to visit family for a week.  The drive was pretty good considering I was alone with the kids.  Connor is starting to stay awake for more and more of the drive.  Luckily we have the flip down monitors for them to watch movies.  When we arrived in Price we stopped by the Clair’s and let the kids play for a couple of hours then went to unpack the van at my parents.

Sunday we went to my cousins mission farewell and then a lunch after.  We also visited Great Grandma and Grandpa Erickson.

Monday we played in the backyard in the morning and evening. I vacuumed out the van and helped clean house.  We also went shopping.

Tuesday we went to the park in the morning and had lunch with Great Grandma Karen. We went shopping again for more bridal shower stuff.  Then I worked on bridal shower games and getting stuff together.

Wednesday it was cloudy so we stayed inside most of the day.  I took my sisters bridal shower pictures but I want to take more cause it was cloudy and made the background so gray.  We went to Clair’s later in the day and the kids got to play with their cousins.

Thursday we tried to relax but the kids just keep going and going.  I did some more prep work for the shower.

Friday (today) we’ve cleaned some more, ran more errands, ate out for lunch, and naps.  While the kids napped I finished up prep work for the shower and ran to the store.  We have gone to the store every day.  I hate when I forget something or remember it after we get home.  After nap time I took Connor over to Clair’s to play for a couple of hours.  While he was there me and my sister worked on her shower cake.  And my mom played with Jacob.  We got most of the cake done.

Saturday (tomorrow) We will be having a very busy day getting everything ready for the shower and redoing my sisters bridal pictures.  Kids will most likely be over at Grandma and Grandpa Clair’s all day or at least most of the day.

Sunday we’ll go and visit great grandparents again and get all our hellos and goodbyes in before we leave.

We’ll be heading back to Logan on Monday.  This week has seemed to drag on but also go by so fast.  This is the first time the kids have been away from daddy and first time since we got married that we have spent more than one night apart.

The Last Month

So I started this post over a week ago and I am finally finished.  With both boys keeping my busy running around and entertaining them, I don’t get much time to get on the computer. It has been a little over a month since my last post.  I figured once a month and sometimes more is perfect for updates.  We don’t do much worth posting but now that it is getting warmer we are outside more and doing more things.
Kids are getting bigger by the day.  Connor will be 3 in May and Jacob is now 15 months old.  Just the other day the two of them were teasing each other and laughing.  I have so many videos that I am going to make a slideshow of pictures and videos from the last month or so.  I can’t guarantee it’s going to be short. I love to take pictures and videos and there are a lot!

Over the last month Clair’s have come to visit, played at the park with friends, had tons of doctors appointments to figure out why i keep on getting headaches, went to Price for Easter and did crafts with the kids.

JACOB
Now Jacob is running especially when he pushes things.  He loves to keep up with his brother and is learning more every day.  Jacob loves to climb over small things like the kids chair that turns into a bed. He is talking more but not much you can understand.  When Tyler gets home you can hear Jacob say Hi dada in his own little way.  He is saying mama and dada a lot more.  Jacob has learned to shake his head no and thinks it’s funny.  He also knows how to wave and when he waves you can hear him try to say something just not quit sure what. Jacob loves the swings at the parks. Jacob has learned to go down the slides mostly by himself.  Sometimes he wants you to hold his hand as he goes down.

CONNOR
Connor is getting way to smart for me.  I can sit and have a conversation with him and he will surprise me by saying different things that I had no clue he knew.  He is starting to use more and bigger words.  He is always asking what things are and what they are for.  He also asks what words mean and then tries to use them.  Connor loves to help out around the house and with Jacob.  He his getting along with Jacob a lot better.  He doesn’t hit or push him as much and is always trying to help him and teach him.  Connor loves to do things on his own. If you try to help him he gets mad.  He likes to wash his hands, and get dressed on his own.  If he can’t do it he usually will come and ask for help.  We are going to try starting back up on potty training.  Since he loves candy(treats) and got a lot for Easter I figured I could use that to my advantage.  Every time Connor asks for a treat I remind him that the only way he gets a treat is if he tries to go potty on the big potty.  Even if he doesn’t go but at least tries he gets a treat.  About 50% of the time he goes and he is using the potty more. After a few days of this we will try big boy undies instead of pull ups and see if he can stay dry.  I’m hoping it works and works quick. Connor’s favorite show to watch every morning at 8 am is Doc McStuffins.

TRISHA
I am doing much better at trying to keep myself busy and get out of the house more.  It helps that we have had a few warm days.  I have taken the kids to the park and we have hung out with a couple of my friends that also have kids. I try to do crafts or things I want to do while the kids are napping or after they go to bed.  I have been trying to eat healthier and exercise more.  I am staying busy with all the things I am helping my little sister with.  Me and my older sister made bridal shower invitations and I have been planning the games and decorations for her shower.  I am also working on their slideshow and taking all of their wedding pictures.  I am trying to be a better mom and wife.  I have my down days but I have to say I am getting better at staying up on laundry and dishes.  I try to play with the kids more and have more one on one time with them.  I have always had problems with my temper and I have been trying to work on it for years.  These last few weeks I would have to say have been better but still not the best I can do.  It’s a work in progress.
I have been to so many doctors that specialize and most have told me they don’t know why I get headaches.  I did get an allergy test done and I’m allergic to pretty much every weed, cottonwood trees, cats, dogs, and most grass.  No wonder I don’t like Spring that much.  After no clear answers I decided to go to the chiropractor.  I found out the the spine in my neck is straight and starting to curve backwards.  The doctor has been working on my neck and back for the last month and I feel much better.  Every once in a while I still get headaches mostly due to stress.  I have only had one major migraine that I had to sleep and take medicine.  That’s much better than getting one every week plus small headaches every day.

TYLER
Tyler is working on his masters still but glad to say he will be done at the end of this year! Tyler still likes his job and is learning more every day.  Tyler has been so great to help with the kids and when I ask to help around the house.  He stays busy with school and work.  When Tyler gets the time he plays on the computer, plays with the kids, and helps where ever he can.

The following pictures are from March 12- Now.  They include going to the park several times, Easter, Family activities, Crafts, and just having fun.
