Acupuncture

Yesterday I had to go to school and make up some missed class time. So while I was in the Library a lady from the acupuncture program stopped to say hi and asked if I wanted a treatment done. I said yes and told her I'd see her a little later. She took me into the treatment room and asked all about how I was feeling and about my period and my bodily functions and about any soreness I was having and asked to see my tongue.
The first time I went through this process I was really taken back by the things they wanted to know, I wish I had had some warning. But she is very kind and after laying down on the table she tested some pressure points and I was surprised how much they hurt. So she proceeds to poke me with needles.
For anyone who has never experienced acupuncture don't be freaked out because of the needles you nearly feel them and if you have any discomfort at all they will adjust them.
The most interesting point of the treatment was when I told her about my feet and how they were always cold. She said she would be able to fix that. When she stuck my ankle I was amazed when I imediately felt warmth rush into my foot! I was like Whoah! She just laughed a little and said "good your chi was very blocked"
I called mom and told her about my treatment and she was very surprised too. Even hours later when I stopped by the house my feet were still warm. Mom said Whoah! And I said I know right?!
Mom has expressed many times that she would like to go have acupuncture done and I suggested she go to the clinic. I would recommend it to anyone who is feeling "off balance" in anyway you're going to be pleasantly surprised by how much better you feel.

New Sun glasses

Image
I lost my sun glasses this week and I had to go buy new ones. It took me 2 days to find some that I liked. So I was out with the kids on the playground and I had put my hood up because i wasn't feeling well and relized from my reflection in the window that I look like the unibommer.
OK so I thought it was funny and Tianna did too. So did Ben, Bobby, Sam, and Brittany.
Thought I'd share.

Legos

ImageOK so this is another Conner Creation. This one really cracked em up. So It started out as a building that I was absently building while watching the other kids play and Conner comes over and tells me its a rocket ship. but in order for it to be a rocket ship it needs wings. Then he adds jet engines (the red Lego's on the wing tips) and then he adds a blower (black and yellow piece off the back) The funny part is that is blower and jet engines counter act each other so to me its really a hoover craft. But on no not in Conner-land. The jet engines work backwards in Conner-land so it works whatever way Conner says it does. Never doubt the inner workings of a 4 yr old mind. I'm apparently too logical.

Image This is Brittany's "I'm bored at work" mindless creation. What it evolved into was a Temple for Sacrifices to the Preschool Lego Gods. See you can take apart Lego people completely legs, hands, arms, head.. they all separate into individual pieces. So Brittany has Lego man bits all over this temple and the random horse or two. With the carnage of the war at the bottom.
Personally I think she's a bit twisted.

Image So after being out celabrating my friend Amber's 28th birthday. I needed to fill up on gas. So we pull into Kroger and i'm getting my cards out and this lady walks right up to my car so I roll down my window and she asks me ifi would like to use her fuel card instead. She gets .50 off this month and she has to use them by tonight or they expire. I looked at Amber and then back at the lady and said "Sure! Thanks!" So I scanned her card and sure enough .50 off! I returned the card and off she went. I looked at Amber again and we both said "WOW that was awesome!!" We looked back for the lady and saw her across the lot asking a guy who had just gotten out of his truck if he would like to use her card as well.
This one's for the record books people. Kind people are still out there!

Super Smart 5yr olds

Image These two are (L-R) Xander and Kennedy *sorry for cutting off Kennedy's face I moved*
This is their castle. I was with them when they built it.
Xander explains it like this. (starting fromthe right) "This is the main house were everyone plays and sleeps. Next to it is the kitchen. Off the side of the kitchen is the helocoptor pad and the shade porch. On top of the kitchen is to solar pannel (the thin green piece) it keeps everthing lighted and working. Off the kitchen is the horse stables and on top of that is where the owls live, to help kill the mice and stuff."
I was like WOW! This kid is stinking smart. Come to find out his mother teaches him all these things. Yahoo for moms! She tells him exactly how things work and what they do. The concensus among us teachers is that he's going to work for the government as a spy.

Preschool Daze!

Near the end of my first day I was helping a teacher put the lid back on the sandbox in the play area. Well this box sits about a foot or so inside the mulch play area and I stepped backwards out of the play area and onto the wheel of a tricycle (the child riding it had stopped right behind me) and proceeded to fall backwards over the trike, and the child, and landed hard in a heap on my back obliterating the hair clip with a sicken crunch as my head hit the pavement.

My first thought was don't move and don't cry. The second one was a very quick inventory of my body. Anything broken or bleeding? No, not that I can tell at the moment. The third was "I feel like an idiot" I'm also hearing the teachers at this time telling me not to move and for someone to get Ms. Nikki (Center Director)

When I open my eyes Ms. Paula is standing over me asking if I'm alright and I hear another teacher ask if we need to fill out and incident report ('No' I think to myself) I manage to untangle myself from the kid and his bike and get up and walk back into the classroom to check myself out. I step into the bathroom and just cry.

After a minute or so I tell myself that its my first day I have to get back out there and watch the kids. I take 2 pain pills and go back outside assuring the other teachers that I'm OK. I help Ms. Paula gather the kids up and bring them back inside. She looks at me and tells me to go home.

I meet Nikki in the doorway and she tells me she totally understands if I'm not able to come in tomorrow and to give her a call in the morning if I don't feel up to working. I assure her I will OK and I'll see her tomorrow.

I did go to work the next day with only a little headache.
