Part 2

Here are the pictures from May and June...

Strawberry picking here in our own town! What fun!

Image
Which strawberry should I eat first???

Image
Jacob's strategy was just to eat each one he found, plain and simple.

Image
Joshua was a very diligent picker!
In all we picked 4 gallons - now that was a labor of love!
But there was a mission behind the "madness"...

STRAWBERRY JAM!!!

Image

Talk about fresh...
later that same evening a few of us gathered at a friend's house
and she instructed us in how to make strawberry jam.
We jammed 3 gallons and it took us the whole evening.
But it was worth it all!

Image
Look at how many jars we had to show for our hard work!

Image

I've never been a big jam/jelly fan, but let me tell you
this was the best stuff I have ever tasted!

Awana awards ceremony at church.

Image
Here we are at a local 1800s homestead where they were having a Heritage Day.
The boys got to churn butter.

Image
Caleb rode a pony.

Image
Here we watched a woman make paraffin candles.
Did you know they had to dip those strings in the hot paraffin 100 times to make the candle!!!

Well, that's it for now. I'm hoping not to have to do 3 months of pictures next time : )

Here we are!!!

The last few months have been busy so I kept forgetting to post our pictures.
Therefore I'm just going to catch up on things in one big post.

Image
Here is a picture from Easter morning. Jacob woke up with a clogged/infected lymph gland.
As you can see the poor child looked terrible!

Image

Our church had an egg hunt as well as a petting zoo. Of course our boys LOVED it!

Image
Caleb got very attached to one particular baby goat.
We had to explain why we couldn't have baby goats at our house.

Image
This is Jacob with his "girlfriend" from church. These two really just love each other for some reason so we staged a photo op. Jacob seems a little less willing to participate here. We'll keep her identity hidden : )

Image
Then the last week in April we headed to Destin, FL to have our first beach vacation.
It was fabulous! I'm sure it won't be the last. It was great to be so close to such a nice beach.

Image
I think the boys could have stayed at the beach all day! They entertained themselves so well.

Image

Joshua's favorite beach activities included digging, finding shells, and challenging himself to see how deep he could wade out into the water without getting knocked over.

Image
Caleb was strictly a surfing man.
From out of nowhere he started "like" using "like" California surfer lingo "dude". WIPE OUT!

Atlanta Botanical Gardens

Image
Today we ventured to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
My favorite part was in the Children's Garden.
They had a whole section with a Peter Rabbit theme.
The kids got to hide in the watering can and crawl under
Mr. Gregor's fence just like Peter.
It was very cute!

Above is a vanilla bean plant.

Three Man Recycling Band?

Image
Anyone else have trouble keeping your kids out of the recycling?
It's a constant battle around here.
They always have grand plans of what they could do with what they see in the pile -
be it a craft project or some kind of weapon :)
This day they made a little band and were making lots of "music".
It was mainly a percussion section!
The three of them have lots of fun together
and the older two do so well playing with Jacob.

February Snow

Image
I'm very late posting this but here it is.
Our first snow in Georgia and likely the only one this year.
We had beautiful big flakes and it practically snowed the whole day.

Image
We had enough snow for Craig and the boys to build a snow bunny
- or maybe it was a snow Jasmine???

First Tooth Lost

A few weeks ago Caleb lost his first tooth!
