DECtech is a Colorado School of Mines outreach program designed especially for girls! Program leaders are Mines students who are both passionate about their subjects of study and sharing this passion with the next generation.

Mission Statement:

DECTech (Designing for Equity by Changing Technology) empowers and inspires students of all genders in grades 3 through 10 to explore, learn, and lead in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Through engaging, hands-on experiences and mentorship from Colorado School of Mines students, DECTech promotes confidence, curiosity, and creativity, while building pathways toward inclusive participation in STEM education and careers.

Vision Statement:

DECTech envisions a future where every student, regardless of gender or background, in grades 3 through 10, has equal access to high-quality STEM learning opportunities and the confidence to pursue their passions in technology and engineering. By fostering diversity, collaboration, and innovation, DECTech aims to cultivate a community of future STEM leaders who will create a more equitable and inclusive world through science and technology.
