If you can’t be right, at least be consistent

If you can’t be right, at least be consistent. That seems to be the motto of the writer of this article on Yahoo! Shine:

letterman shine 1

For some reason, the writer has capitalized grand jury, not once but three times. I guess that makes it all okey-dokey. The writer (whose name I won’t reveal) also uses the wrong homophone here:

letterman shine 2

and an incorrect singular verb here:

letterman shine 3

Let’s not sidestep the issue, there’s no hyphen in sidestep:

letterman shine 4

Sidestepping on the language

The writer of this piece from a blog on Yahoo! Shine seems to be sidestepping some conventions of the English language:

abortion-shine-health

The misspelled sidestep, missing the, and repeated words are all hallmarks of a rushed (or indifferent) writer. You’d think that when writing about as serious a topic as abortion, the writer would want to project a cogent, coherent, and intelligent image.
