4th of July
We had a great 4th of July here in Flower Mound! We found a new park and took the girls there in the morning before it got too hot. Friends, come visit so we can all go, it is worth the drive!
Then we ate lunch at Jason's Deli. The one here is very nice. So between wearing them out at the park and filling their bellies, they both took a three hour nap! So we were able to go so the fireworks for the first time. The band Smash Mouth was playing before the fireworks started. The girls danced and did cartwheels and made friends. They both stayed up until 11 and loved the fireworks!
Girls weekend
Debi did such a good job on her blog that I copied her post for Girls Weekend!
The "mommy friends" that I met almost 4 years ago through Stroller Strides have become more than "mommy friends". They are some of my closest friends, and we always have a great time together. We got together for a weekend getaway to relax and shop. Elizabeth's mother in law allowed us to use her newly-purchased vacation house on Lake Callender, and it provided the perfect setting for relaxation and perfect distance to Canton.
the tracker jacker that gave us a heart attack.
Lisa was so generous. A while back she received a delivery from Arbonne (the make-up/skin care company) for her home's previous owner. She tried diligently to get it returned. She called Arbonnes and the previous homeowner. After a few months, no one picked it up, so she decided to bring the boxes with her so we could all share in the goodies. We were pretty excited for her to open it. We had visions of a night filled with facials, make-overs, etc.....
We were pretty freakin' disappointed when the boxes were filled with PROTEIN SHAKES (made from peas!). It was quite hysterical.
So we had another drink....
a group picture with this crew is almost a tough as getting one of my crew at home...
The next morning was CANTON! It was toasty, but we found some great deals. We spent quite a bit of time in the "vintage" section finding good junk.
I had an amazing nap when we got home. Marissa was busy getting dinner ready. Cooking is one of her MANY talents.
It was very relaxing there. I want to go back. (hint, hint Percival Fam) :)
The community had a floatella in our honor. (or maybe it was the upcoming 4th of July holiday)
I did catch myself saying (as the decorated boats passed by) "the boys would love this".
Elizabeth and Marissa provided the entertainment.
the pyromaniacs got into elizabeth's hubby's stash of fireworks. These girls can do it all!
we spectated...
there was a little competition going on with the people on various sides of the lake. our side definitely won. I bet they didn't know it was just a bunch of housewives that were kicking their butts:)
It was a wonderful, relaxing weekend!>

Big Girl Bed
Aubrey got her new big girl bed about a month ago! While my parents were in town they were generous enough to buy it for her. Claire was two when she got one because I needed the crib for Aubrey so I figured it was time for a crib-free house. Kinda sad. She LOVES it. She goes right to sleep and sleeps all through the night, then the girls come downstairs together every morning around 7:00. It has a trundle so Claire has already spent the night with her. They do great together in the same room :) Brad and I love the paint color we chose...a light purple. She really is getting to be a little girl...tear...
The first day she wasn't so sure about it...I found her asleep on the playroom couch at nap time.
Their rooms are right next to each other!
Oh, we redid the guest room too so come visit!

Memorial Day Camp Out
The Friday that kicked off the long Memorial Day weekend was perfect for a little backyard camping. Claire has been wanting to camp for awhile now, and I hate camping, so we met in the middle. We went "fishing", ate smores, set up a tent and watched a movie outside. The girls fell asleep in the tent at 9:30 and we brought them inside to sleep in their own beds. Something was crawling around in the bushes...Brad said it was a turtle but I was pretty much done after that. It was fun and we will do it again for sure!
