Easter Baskets

The Easter Bunny came a day later than usual so Dad could join in the fun. Here are some pictures of the boys checking out what they got in their baskets this year. At the end is a picture of Erick. Can you tell he likes chocolate? Silly boy!

More Easter

These are some pictures from our Easter dinner. This was my first attempt at the bunny cake that my mom used to make for us each Easter. I think it came out pretty well! I made a carrot cake from scratch for it.

A Little Behind....

Ok, so I haven't kept up on my once a week post goal. So, here I am to repent... Easter was great. Scott was on a business trip to Thailand and got back Sunday afternoon, so he missed out on coloring eggs and our Easter morning egg hunt. Luckily, the Easter Bunny waited until he got home to visit our house. The boys had a great time coloring eggs. It was fun to see all 4 of them so excited.

International Week

Bryatt and Caysen had International Week at their school, QSI, last week. It was a busy, fun- filled week as parents from many different countries came into school to read stories, sing songs, play games and give presentations about their specific countries. Thursday, Bryatt gave a powerpoint presentation on Arizona. It was his first research paper/project. He did a great job! On Friday, each represented country came and set up a booth so that the students could walk around and learn more about where their friends are from! I went and helped with the USA booth. We played baseball, frisbees, and hula hoops! It was a blast! Then, for lunch, each family sent in a food from their home country and we had a buffet style meal. There were so many good foods! Scott was able to come and eat lunch with us. The boys had a great time! After lunch, Caysen showed us the brochure he made about the USA. He had to try and persuade people to visit the USA by listing 4-5 things he liked about our country. He chose biking, swimming, Norman Rockwell's painting, the Star Spangled Banner and the game of Duck Duck Goose. He also did a great job! It was such a good opportunity for the boys to learn about different cultures.

No Water!

So, yesterday afternoon about 3pm, the ayi came in to show me that there was little water coming out of the kitchen faucet. I called the property management company only to be told that one of the main water pipes had burst and there wasn't going to be any running water for 24 hours! Nice!! Especially since one of the boys' friends had just gone to the bathroom!! So, the ayis helped and we got some water so we could flush the toilets. Luckily, we have been very conscientious about having enough water to drink if something were to happen, like another earthquake, so we were fine for washing hands and brushing teeth. We took the kids to McDonalds for dinner so there wouldn't be any dishes to wash. The boys were thrilled about not having to shower! This morning, Scott got up for work and there was running water!! Just one of the joys of living in a big city in China, I guess!

Scott will be there for about 3-4 weeks at the beginning and about 4-5 days at the end of the summer. We are so excited to catch up with our families and friends!!

Back at Last!!

So I know it has been forever since I posted. I am not going to try and catch up on everything. We had a great Christmas break with trips to Malaysia and Hainan Island, China. We just got back from a trip to Thailand, where we enjoyed lots of sun. I hope to blog at least once a week from now on! Love you all!
