Easter was nice this year. I worked the night before so It didn't even feel like easter till I had come home and taken a few hour nap. When I woke up Travis surprised me with an Easter gift.
Yes, I got an easter bunny! Her name is Flower and she is from build a bear. Even the Easter basket is from build a bear haha I was soooo excited. I love stuffed animals and she's just adorable and really soft.
Later that day, we met with a member of the bishopric and got extended a call to be the teachers for the 16-17 year old sunday school class. We are really excited for it. We have some good kids in our ward. It will be fun.
We came home and relaxed for a while and then decided to hide some eggs. We always color a ridiculous amount of Easter eggs cause that's just how we roll. This year we took them to the front yard and started hiding. The neighbors were out so we invited them to come play with us. We had a really good time!
My favorite part of hiding eggs (and my favorite part of most things these days), was Zuka!! She was sooooo excited to find the eggs. She would find the eggs and even carried them soft in her mouth, she didn't even break them. She brought them over to us to put in the egg crate. Most of the eggs she found, we could see, too but with two of the eggs, we had been looking and looking and she found them before us!

Thank You in spirit :)
So, my cousins wife sent me a message on facebook recently. They got married and wanted to send us a thank you note for our gift. Wanted to know our address. How thoughtful! So polite! To be honest, I didn't expect a thank you card, and in the story that follows, you will find out why.
That got me thinking about when we got married... A little over a year ago Travis and I got married and It was of the utmost importance to me to write everyone "Thank You" notes right away! I had these done 2 weeks after we were married! I had a list of what everyone had given us so the notes could be personal. My right hand was bloody and cramped. Handwriting got worse and worse as I went but they were DONE. I even got them stamped, addressed, and ready to send. Boy, we were awesome! On top of it, right off the bat. This marriage was getting off to a great start.
However, as you may do the math... this put us right into the first of April. Finals time. We were both in college so things got pretty stressful. The cards were ready to go but just in a bag in Trav's nightstand. We were living with Grandma Thacker at the time. The cards just didn't get sent.
School ended and we started to get ready to move to Price. We started cleaning out our stuff at Grandma Thacker's house. Oh, and we were gonna send off those cards.... Wait a minute, what happened to the cards? We searched that bedroom high and low. Searched Grandma Thacker's whole house. My mom's house. Our cars. They were nowhere to be found!! To this day I do not know what happened to those dang cards. The worst part is, the list of people and gifts were with the cards so we couldn't even rewrite them. And lets be honest, I really didn't want to anyway. A few of the notes were given out so I had no idea who got one and who was in the bag.....
If you know me at all, you know this bugged me for weeks and weeks. I finally just had to let it go and accept that I was one of those rude people who don't give thank you cards.... Hopefully my family and friends would understand. Travis and I just laugh about it now, what else is there to do?!
So if you gave me something for my bridal shower/wedding, know that I DID write you a thank you note, you just didn't get it because the thank you card monster got to them before I could get them sent. Hopefully everyone felt our Thank You in spirit :)

Tagged
I was tagged by my beautiful friend Ashley so here are my answers
1. Whats your dream job?
To be a mama. But that's not happening, so...... Director of nursing as a skilled nursing facility. I know most people don't like skilled nursing but I do haha you get to know the people and you get to provide a higher level of care than assisted living and similar facilities.
2. Whats your favorite drink?
Tough one.... Maybe Fresca and Orange Juice mixed. (Otherwise known as a Virgin Screwdriver).Has to be pulpy orange juice though.

3. Most important beauty secret.
I have no beauty secrets haha wish I did.... If I had to say anything (which I clearly do....) I would say that less is more. People go way over board on make up and accessorizing and whatever else they do... I get the most compliments when I take it easy and enjoy what I've been given.
4. If you had an all-expense paid vacation to go anywhere, where would you go?
I would like to go to Africa and do service. That would be an expensive trip though, and I guess not really a vacation.

As far as vacations go, It's all about the company. Maybe a cruise with the 6 of us, plus Baby J!

5. If a genie popped up right now, what would your three wishes be?
1. For a job that I would enjoy
2. Zuka to grow up healthy and be obedient
3. Travis a new set of golf clubs
6. If you could only have one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
This a hard question. I would LOVE to eat french fries every day but I would be like 500 lbs and always feel like crap. I could (and used to) eat yogurt and granola everyday, several times a day.
7. What one talent do you wish you had?
Oh there are many... I wish I were good at sports. Or had the desire to be good at sports haha Sometimes being such a girly girl frustrates me. Another thing I would love to be good at is singing. However, I hate speaking in front of people so I dont know if singing works the same way or not haha
8. Who is your biggest celebrity crush?
Robert Duvall. He is just a classy guy....

9. If you could look into the future, would you?
Never. This may sound terrible but I don't know if I would have the courage to face it.... I would rather do it a day at a time. If I had known previously about some of the things I have gone through recently, I may have felt like just giving up. Life's a dance, you learn as you go....
10. What made you start a blog?
I like things about the "virtual world" (facebook, chat, etc). It's been a fun way to keep up with friends lives, thoughts, and feelings. I also enjoy reading and writing and feel like having a blog helps keep up those skills.
Yay!~ All Done!~ And I would like to tag my 3 friends:
