New house

So, we moved. Honestly, it was all soooo fast and crazy. We never intended to stay at our house forever but we weren’t really planning on moving this year either haha It all started with a small leak in our basement. No big deal but we had to have it fixed. We started talking about the work that needed done on our house (it was built in 1943) and what was worth doing before we decided to sell it. It got us thinking about selling and we started looking and running the numbers of it all. The market is crazy high right now which wasn’t great for buying but it was awesome for selling!

We were looking in the Lehi area and actually went and saw a few houses. Then, the Monday after conference, I checked out the new listings in Utah County before I went to my 6am high fitness class and I saw this house in Vineyard. We hadn’t been looking in Vineyard at all but I loved the house (from the listing). The house was on my mind all during class and I decided to drive by it after class. I still loved it. I went home and showed it to Travis. He liked the look of it as well so we texted our realtor and set up a showing that day at 11 ish. We looked at the house and totally felt so good about it. We put in an offer that day!.... with the contingency of our house selling… which wasn’t even on the market yet haha We listed our house the next day and began cleaning and organizing like crazy! Our house sold in 10 days and in those 10 days we got about 20-25 showings so it was really crazy!! Things moved really fast and we actually moved into our new home 6 weeks after listing our Orem house.

There were a few hiccups in the details, as house negotiations tend to go, and our move in date went from a weekend to Tuesday! It was definitely not ideal. And also, I had switched my schedule around for the weekend so I ended working all night on Monday and then moving all day on Tuesday. Because it was during the week, we didn’t have much help during the day but Brianna watched the kids and Dustin helped move some of the bigger stuff and then my mom was there most of the day, helping with whatever she could. We got the truck loaded and completely moved out of our Orem home. We were getting ready to move the big stuff into the Vineyard home when both of our parents, brett and ashlee, dustin, and Russell all showed up and man, was I grateful! We got the truck completely unloaded in about an hour and then I basically just died that night haha We have been in the house almost 3 weeks now and so far things are going well! The first week and the first Sunday was hard but things are starting to normalize. I am gonna call that good for now. I want to document the house and the details but that will have to wait for another day.
