3 Years: Better Late than Never
Samuel woke up bright and early on May 12th! He turned 3! His new bike was waiting on him as he came downstairs. No time was wasted hopping on and giving it a whirl!
Daddy then went to Heidelberg Bakery to grab one of the birthday boy's favorite things..Donuts! Of course, chocolate with sprinkles.
We all then got to sing Happy Birthday to him at least 5 times. He kept saying "sing it again!"
It was then time to open presents from Grandma Becky and Grandma Norma, who both came up to Virginia to help celebrate the big boy!
Party time! We had Samuel's party at a great place called My Gym in Bethesda. It was similar to a Little Gym and it was just perfect. All we provided were some decorations and the cake! My kind of party...no clean up at all.
The party was done by two college age guys who were SO great. All of the moms were wondering if they babysit on the side. They were so full of energy and kept even the youngest party goers interested and happy!
This is how Samuel was the WHOLE time! He didn't sit for a second.
It was then time for pizza, fruit and cake of course! We did a construction theme...
The party ended with a zip line which of course was the hit of the night!
We then came home and let Samuel open up his presents from all of his friends. I love this picture...he was SO excited about the $10bill. Thank you Belotes!
I still find it hard to believe that this little boy is 3. He has brought more happiness and joy to our lives than we every thought possible. He is learning new things everyday and I just LOVE hanging out with him. I know I will miss him this fall as he starts his preschool. He will be going 3 days/week and I'm already dreading not having him for those days. Soon enough he will be in Kindergarten going everyday! Yikes! He has turned into a great little companion and running buddy!

Here are some things he is up to at 3:
- Still taking a nap but I'm starting to enjoy the days when we skip! He naps for 2 1/2 to 3 hours
- Goes to bed around 8-8:30 and wakes up between 5:30-6:30. I've accepted that he will never be a late sleeper.
- Wears 3T in most things size 8-9 shoe
- Is fully potty trained! Yay!
- Loves to have "his" time in the morning where he just snuggles on the couch and watches cartoons.
- favorite toys: construction trucks, trash trucks, books, train sets
- favorite books: anything construction related, anything firetruck related, Where the Wild Things Are, The Lorax, Love you Forever, bible stories especially Jonah, Curious George, Lego Books
- favorite activities: going outside and digging, going to park, mall or library, swimming, riding the metro
- He's an amazing swimmer. He can now jump off the side of pool or diving board and swim to the side
- funny sayings: "mommy, we don't say Oh My God", "mommy, we don't say poopy diaper", "mommy, I love you all my life", "I don't like you anymore in my life", "I have just 4 more minutes?", "bye bye poo poo" as he flushes, "let's get cozy"
- favorite food: macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, apples, grapes, chips, cheese dip and salsa, noodles, broccoli, ice cream. He also loves cereal, waffles, and toast with butter.
Happy Belated Birthday to my 3 year and 3 month old! Love you...
