I was called to be the Camp Director. It was an amazing experience!! The theme was Anchored in Christ, it was kind of a nautical theme.
This is what the name tags I made for each girl and leader looked like. Each ward was a "boat" and our boat name was Diamond in the Rough and Our ward cheer was Shine Bright Like a Diamond. So I tried to incorporate all of that in our name tags and ward flag.
We were also given the Indian Ocean, so with all that we kind of did a little bit of an Indian theme, like Aladdin.
That is where I got the idea for the imprint for these necklaces I made for the girls that say.. Shinning Shimmering Splendid, from Aladdin, and then added a diamond onto them.
I loved prepping and making and planning and getting everything ready, but as the days got closer, my anxiety started to get worse. Especially about leaving the kids and people throwing up. lol!! Matt and I have often talked about how amazing it would be to be Mission President someday. Well, I finally told myself...how do you expect to be a mission presidents wife and mother to 300 missionaries for 3 years, if you are afraid of being a camp director to 30 girls for 5 days.

I knew I could do this and pressed forward. Matt's mom came with my Niece and Nephew to tend the kids. Matt was supposed to be home during the nights, but he had to go out of town for the week. That night before and the morning of I was super anxious, but once we got up to Mt. Lemon, I felt amazing!!
I could definitely feel all the prayers and had amazing leaders and girl that helped the week go so smoothly and awesome!!

I had told the girls a head of time that I love them, but hate throw up, so if they felt sick...to go find another leader other then me. lol!!

This particular area gets a lot of rain during the summer months, so we all came prepared for the rain. Fortunately we had only enough rain to make it fun.

We put on all our rain clothes and went and played in it for awhile and then enjoyed relaxing under our canopies while we waited for the rain to stop. It was perfect.

Here are the girls doing this stepping stones of faith...they called it something else, but I can not for the life of me remember what it was. But it was quite the accomplishment for all involved.

The Faith Walk was a very memorable experience for both the girls and the leaders. It was awesome to see the girls work their way through the rope course and reach the end and be welcomed home by our Stake Patriarch...who kind of represented Heavenly Father.

We also did a ton of really cool things at night, like singing trees, women of the scriptures, and a night hike overlooking the city.

On Friday it was really fun because Matt came up early for Bishops Night to help with the archery Activity. So I was really fun to have him there with me.

The girls taught the Stake President and Bishopric the Wip!

That night at ward time it was amazing to have the Bishopric there and have testimony meeting....always the highlight to the end of camp.
I had the best leaders that helped me love this great experience and to be successful at it. It really turned out perfect!!!

That next morning as we were just about to leave camp, I went to the bathroom one last time. My cell phone was in my back pocket and as I pulled my pants up....plop, into the toilet it fell. I did what any good person would do and hurry and reached and striped my case off of it and dried it the best I could with some toilet paper. I didn't have any rice to put it in, so I just had to hope for the best. When we got home I put it in rice. It ended up turning on and kept trying to work, but it could not find cell coverage.
