Wednesday we met up with all of my girlfriends and their husbands at Granite City for dinner and finished the night at Duty's Bar & Grill. As usual, Nathan insisted on shots for all the guys and Teague willingly obliged. Nathan, I blame you for our 3 pit stops on the way home and for the fact that Teague wanted to sleep on the bathroom floor at my parents house! Teague was a trooper on Christmas Eve and managed to celebrate through his own version of the hangover. Nights like these make me glad I can't drink!
Christmas Eve we continued our new tradition from last year of celebrating at Nicol and Mark's, we had a great time and need to do this every year! We watched Emily and Lucas all day so they could get the house ready which was a lot of fun. Emily was telling me about their visit with Santa, which Lucas did NOT enjoy as you can see in the picture below. When I asked Emily if she cried on Santa's lap too, she laughed at me, smirked and said, "Nooooo silly, big girls don't cry on Santa's lap!"
Christmas morning brought the usual Christmas turtles (turtle neck shirts that is) and Teague's best Christmas outfit yet. Those pictures are on the camera we don't have, so look for those with anticipation in a future post. Teague and I and Baby Avey all got wonderful Christmas gifts, thanks everyone!!
In the afternoon we left my family and ventured down to Indianapolis for Christmas Dinner with Teague's family. It rained the whole drive but that was better than the freezing rain experienced the night before. We had Charline's amazing lasagna and opened presents, which included a Colts snuggie for Tina from Aunt Erin! Definitely look for that picture in a future post.
Saturday night was the "Facebook Party" at Rock Lobster in Broadripple. This party started last year and nearly 1,000 people were invited via facebook! Crazy that we now have parties via social networking sites. It was a huge and random group of people and definitely made you believe in Kevin Bacon's 6 degrees of separation. It was great to catch up with all of our friends, especially Bob and Leslie who were in town from CO! And to Jeremy and Aimee who got a night out from the girls and took FULL advantage :) We finished the night with Hot Box pizza and breadsticks, my favorite and just as delicious sober as they usually are when I've had a few cocktails beforehand.
We got home to Chicago Sunday afternoon just in time to watch the disappointing Colts loss to the Jets, boo! I understand Caldwell's decision, I guess, but why did he even play his starters if he was just going to take them out and have them lose? I think it was so that both Peyton and Dallas could break the regular season records they were going for. I hope nobody suits up for the Buffalo game, that sounds cold and dangerous. Looking forward to the post-season in January, Go Horse! Here is Peyton telling Painter to get his act together, I felt bad for the guy but he played horribly. He went 4 for 11 for 44 yards, with two sacks and one horrific interception. I pray that Peyton never gets hurt or retires!

That's all I got, thanks to all of our family and friends for another fantastic Christmas!

If we don't post before next week, safe travels to everyone and have a very Merry Christmas!!
