Last day of spring break we went and got some donuts! The boys loved it!
I cleaned the storm shelter to get things ready for spring weather! No one wants to go down there with all the dead crickets and spider webs everywhere so I try to keep it clean. Its no fun to get in that thing to begin with but it is especially no fun when it is dirty and gross and you feel like bugs are crawling all over you. Haha. Plus, I figure if it is clean we won't have to use it...right?! :)
Brady won a duck blind spot at Lake Draper this past season and so we had to go take it all down once the season was over. The water level was much higher when we went to take it down than it was when we put it up and we couldn't get to it. Kolton ended up being voluntold to strip down and go out in the water to pull up the stakes. I couldn't believe he did it! He did a great job, though, and got them all out!
Its always fun to go out and do things like that in nature. I just love it. I love letting the boys just get dirty and enjoy the outdoors and different scenery than normal. We live in the middle of the city so they don't get to experience much of country life so when they get the chance it makes me happy! And Trigger loves it just as much as we all do, obviously!
Bentley is definitely in an in-between stage right now where he isn't tired enough to take naps every day or at the usual nap time but come 5:00 he passes out because he just can't make it the whole day without one. He slept ALL through dinner at Chuy's one night because he skipped nap. :)
Kolton and his team competed in the Kings of the City tournament. It is a really big tournament and teams travel from all over to come to it and lucky for us it is in OKC. He got to start in the first game of the tournament and played all but two minutes of the entire game. He scored 10 points for his team, got multiple offensive rebounds and a few defensive rebounds, forced turnovers, and hustled big time. They won 23-10. At half-time wit was 10-5 and he had 8 of the points. Haha.
Kolton scored 6 points in his second game with a final score of 24-14 and he played the entire game. He hustled so hard on defense and got a block on a kid that was quite literally a foot taller than him. He played an amazing game.
We took Kolton and his friend from the team, Deacon, down to the Thunder court to play around after the games. Some older kids ended up asking them to play with them and they loved it! Brady ended up playing too. It was super hot but they all had a good time!
Our team ended up WINNING IT ALL and going 5-0!!! Game 1: 24-10 against Wichita Falls Showtyme. Kolton had 10. Game 2: 24-14 vs. Memphis DMG. Kolton had 6. Game 3: 28-18 vs Tulsa DNL. Kolton had 11. Game 4: 19-16 vs. Kansas City Prodigy. Kolton had 4. Game 5: 17-14 vs DMG. Kolton had 6. His team scored 111 points against 72 points over the tournament. Kolton had 37 points which is 1/3 of his team's points! It was such an exciting tournament and so proud of the boys for fighting hard and getting the win! Kolton played SO well and ended up getting some game winning shots in a couple of the games of the tournament.
Bentley and I took advantage of Dairy Queen's free ice cream cone day! Yummy!
Took Trigger on a walk and he seriously pooped in the rode in a line about 4 feet long. I couldn't believe it. And I didn't have any bags so we had to go home real fast and grab some and go back, hoping no one had driven through it in the meantime! Ugh.
Kolton and Brady got to go to a Thunder game. Some friends gave us their tickets to the game really last minute and they had a blast! Not too bad of seats either!
Bentley and I went and got Sonic slushes while the older boys were out at the game!
This is what our front yard looks like every day after school and the kids love it! They love getting that time every day after school to play outside and I'm glad they get it too!
Found a couple of ticks after our lake excursion. Yummy! :(
Brady designed this shirt to match the March Madness shirts that the college teams all had this year. It is so fun to be able to make our own shirts!
Bentley and I went to the science museum with some friends. It was so fun to chat with friends and let the kids play. We with the Katee and Saylor Bailey and Liz and Ryan Smith.
Bentley and I also went to Kolton's school and helped cheer them on for their fun run. It ended up being too rainy and muddy outside so they had to move it inside to the gym which was such a bummer because it is just so much smaller inside! Haha. The kids had fun, though!
