If The Washer Is A Rocking...

Then one of the kids has probably done laundry.

I told Jarrod, when the dryer stops, fold those clothes and put them away. Move the clothes from the washer to the dryer and put a new load in the wash. There's a full basket of dirty clothes down there.

I guess he thought that meant wash ALLLL of the clothes in the basket.  Cause that's what he did. Put them ALLLLL in. I was like, ummm, you put that whole basket of clothes in? Did you have to like shove them in? And he was like, well... yeah. I just laughed.  Thinking about it makes me chuckle. Cause he kind of demonstrated how he pushedthe clothes in. Lol

Seriously, there was definitely 2 loads in the basket, at least. Lol And I'm glad I wasn't home. Because, by the location of the washer, it must have been doing some dancing, cause it was scooted out from the wall. I have visions of Mr Mom battling the washing machine.

But he did fold and put the cloths away. They might not all be in the right location, but, hey, beggars can't be choosers, right?

Day 16

I am thankful I am his mother.

On your 18th Birthday, my wish for you is that this life is what you want it to be. That you keep dreaming big, and that you don't let the little things worry you too much. That you know what you want and don't let anything stand in your way. When life tries to knock you down, don't give up. Be kind, even when people don't deserve it. Sometimes it is better to walk away. Love unconditionally. Laugh, A LOT! And remember always, that your Moms really do know best! I love you Jarrod!! Happy 18th Birthday!!

Day 13

Today, I am thankful for this moment. To put my feet up, listen to some music and read. The house is clean(ish. I'm realistic. We have 4 kids, a dog and 4 cats (yes 4. Our daughter, it's her fault) and 2 moms that work full time+ jobs (yes, plus. I forget what 40 hrs is like). So, that is where the 'ish' comes from.) The kids are in their rooms. So, for right now, for however long it lasts, I am definitely thankful for this moment.

***Ok, so it lasted 7 minutes. And I'm being generous. Lol The kids could sense my relaxation. So now, Caelyn is sitting next to me, asking me 'what should I draw?' Over and over. And Gryfinn is sliding on his knees across the floor. And now, Caelyn is doing a flip onto the chaise. And now she is wrestling her brother. And now Gryf is doing a flip onto the chaise. And now they have turned off my music, turned on the iPad and are doing the Cha Cha Slide.

And ya know, I am even more thankful for this moment. Watching them dance! They are just awesome!

Day 12

Today, I am VERY thankful that I have a job where I can rearrange my schedule. Work early, work late, make up the hours throughout the rest of the week. And because I have that flexibility, I dont have to miss much with the kids. I get to attend programs, and parties, and award ceremonies.

The JROTC program had their Cake Cutting Ceremony for the Marine Corps Birthday today. This is Jarrod's 4th year in the JROTC program. I am sure that there is an actual title, but I don't know what it is, lol, but Jarrod got to stand in the middle and call out the commands to the other cadets. He was very excited to get to do this (a little nervous too! I got a text around 8:30am saying his stomach hurt... nerves!) He did great, and this Mom teared up a bit. It was an honor, and I really could not be more proud of him!

Day 10

Today I am thankful for good friends who are willing to set up meetings with their recruiter son. To give us information on the ROTC program. Lots of information. Information that I may not be ready for, cause really, who is ready for their child to grow up and graduate? And move away? And possibly go to a school that is 12 hours away? I know I'm not. I mean, I am excited for all that is to come, to see where he goes in life. But, I just wish it could be at least within a few hours drive... at the MOST! But.... I have told him that I will support him in whatever decision he makes. I will just curl up in a ball and cry about his decision when he is not around. Might even stomp my feet and throw a little bit of a fit. Cause dammit, I am Mom, and I don't want him to be that far away!
