My Cup Runneth Over!!!

To say I have more than enough is an understatement. I don't blog as often as I would like, I wish I would though because I have so much I would love to have written to help me remember later on. Today I cannot help but write about how full my life is. This past weekend we didn’t do anything spectacular, we didn't go away or fill our time with visits to museums, zoos etc…(which we love to do!). However, due to both Juniper and I recovering from a yucky summer cold we simply hung out. Sometimes family time is the best medicine! Juniper continues to amaze me every day, she is such a bundle of joy and craziness all rolled up into her funny self. Even when she isn't feeling well she is laughing and playing her heart out. Yesterday to me was the perfect day. Juniper slept 7pm-8:30am, she woke up pointing at the stars on her ceiling calling for Mumma and Dadda…what a beautiful way for ME to be woken up seeing her sweet face on the monitor. She and I read books in her room for ages, I adore that my baby girl can spend an entire day looking through EVERY book she has and never get bored. After a while I said "are you hungry, do you want pancakes and milk?" to which she stretched her arms as far as she could to me to pick her up. We went downstairs and made pancakes and had breakfast, she talked my ear off. Granted I don't really understand all she is telling me right now but she sure has a lot to say!

We continued to play until Daddy got up and then hung out some more…around noon she was super sleepy so we put her down. She is pretty much on the one nap a day schedule which is great, some days she breaks it up into two but yesterday it was a one nap day. One looooong 3 hour nap! David and I were eager for her to get up so we could hang out some more. While she slept David made banana donuts and I made spinach and cheese pinwheels. When Juniper finally decided to wake up we quickly brought her downstairs and she was looking at all the freshly baked items with excitement! Much to David's dismay she preferred my pinwheels to his donuts, she is a bit of a savory girl. Although she does love chocolate! The afternoon continued to be much of the same as the morning, we did pop out to CVS and Kohl's but came back home quickly to hang out. We laughed and laughed and played hard. She has this new trick where she will hold her shirt in her mouth and smack her own belly and laugh! She also will dance like Elvis while playing with her music table…where do kids learn these things? Needless to say by the time we put her to bed my face hurt from smiling so much and I was feeling much better! David and I cooked up a lovely dinner and just talked and laughed at how lucky we are to have such a sweet little girl.

I am so grateful to have such a full life! I am VERY much looking forward to some much needed family time coming up. We are heading to TX in September and NC in November…we can't wait! We haven't even had visitors in ages so we are having withdrawals ;)

My very FIRST Mother's Day!

“Not flesh of my flesh, nor bone of my bone,

but still miraculously my own.

Never forget for a single minute,

you didn’t grow under my heart, but in it.”

– Unknown

How lucky am I to have such a beautiful, funny, smart and amazing daughter?  How lucky am I to have a loving, nurturing, kind and wonderful husband?  Combine the two and I feel like the luckiest Mum and wife around!  I had the most lovely 1st Mother's Day which was filled with lots of cuddles and kisses with Juniper.  David and Junebug went out and picked me up a snicker doodle iced coffee, a bagel and a beautiful bunch of flowers.  We went for a long walk to the park and Juniper had fun on the swings, slide and tried climbing.  We ended a day with a trip to the mall where I had the chance to buy my little Bug some clothes from Crazy 8.  Nothing makes me happier than spoiling my little girl.

Being a Mum means the world to me, I love every part of it.  I especially love the massive smile she greets me with when I come home from work followed by a loud squeal of delight.  I love the kisses she gives me, the big cuddles, I love that she reaches for me when she is sad.  I may worry about her day and night but I love her more than life itself and being her Mum has completed my family.  I have never been happier, the only piece that is missing is my Mother getting the opportunity to see me as a Mum.  My heart ached a little less this Mother's Day.

She makes my heart burst!

Today was a special day at home with Bug, our day care provider is on vacation at Disney so we had to make other arrangements.  While I can utilize the back-up day care my work offers I prefer to keep her close to home to avoid the commute into the city.  Plus, who doesn't mind a day off with their baby?  So, our friend Danene kindly offered to watch Juniper yesterday (as well as two days last week), I took today off and David is taking tomorrow off.

Juniper didn't sleep great, I think she has another tooth on the horizon but that didn't stop her from being completely and utterly adorable and hilarious today.  It's like she even appreciates a day at home with Mum!

I just can't get enough of her, she is sometimes so serious, she laughs so hard and it comes from deep inside her and her smile...it completely makes my heart melt!

I am grateful for days at home, I am SO VERY grateful for three day weekend and for this week where I am in the office only Tuesday and Thursday :)  The more time at home the happier I am.  Plus we even took a little nap together today, she woke up from her afternoon nap early so I took her to our room and snuggled up with her and we slept for another little bit.  Seeing her so happy when she wakes up is the sweetest and it just makes my heart burst!

Finally she is now smothering us with kisses, not just one wet kiss but many!  Tonight when I was reading her stories before bed she completely soaked my face in kisses.  I don't think my heart can handle the amount of love I have for her AND seeing her with her Daddy just about sends me over the edge.  Man she loves her Daddy and he loves her more than life.  To say I couldn't be happier right now is an understatement, the ONLY way I would be happier right now is if my family was closer to enjoy her too.

A special thank you to our friend Danene who helped us out, we appreciate you so very much! xxx

Growing up too fast...

Juniper is almost 9 months old.  It's crazy to even type that.  It seems like forever ago that we were walking out of the hospital in Missouri overwhelmed and excited with being new parents.  Every day since then has been full of joy and constant changes in our life and in Juniper.    This weekend was another change that showed us just how much she is growing up.  You see, 9 months ago we walked out of the hospital with this little bundle.

Image
She was so tiny in the car seat and weighted not quite 7lbs, she was swallowed in her newborn outfit and looked so fragile.  She was and still is absolutely perfect.

This weekend we finally switched to her convertible car seat.  You can technically keep your little one in the infant car seat we had until 35lbs, who I wonder would even want to lug a 35lb baby around I don't know!  Anyway, we tried to hold off as long as we could but with it being cold and having to bundle her up she was starting to look like she was stuck.  Personally I was having a a hard time carrying her around in the car seat.

So...we upgraded and now she looks like this:

Image
It's hard to imagine that she is the same baby as above.  Our little girl is growing up too fast!  We should have this car seat for much longer than her infant car seat and soon enough she will be crawling into it all by herself.  Tonight we took her for her first drive and she just kind of sat there, she really didn't know what to think about it!  On the way home she did fall asleep and looked very peaceful and much more comfortable than in her old seat.  I have to say it was a little sad packing up the infant car seat knowing she wouldn't use it again, just like all those clothes I have to take out of her dresser every week!

We are very exciting for the next few months knowing how much she is going to change and develop.  She may grow up too fast but she will always be my baby.

Juniper's 1st Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is one of those silly holiday's that I just can't avoid even if I wanted to!  I love this special day even more so now that we have a little bundle of love!  My Mum used to always get us little things for all the holiday's and I want to do that too.  While she will not remember it this year Juniper did have a special onesie with a "J" inside a heart.  Mum and Dad both got her cards and some how she got us cards too!  She received a couple other cards in the mail which was very sweet.  Her daycare lady got her a gift bag with some bits and a little heart balloon that she loved.  I was so excited about her onesie that we forgot to send her to daycare with her special "Baby's first Valentines Day" bib!

My heart is overflowing with love for this little girl and of course how can I forget my husband who spoiled me as always!  I had flowers waiting in my car Thursday when I got off work for the weekend and the treats continued throughout the weekend.  We had a lovely date night Saturday and on Sunday we exchanged gifts :)  I was excited to get a new charm for my Pandora bracelet and of course some chocolate and when I thought all was said and done I then got flowers delivered to work today!  He spoiled both his girls and we love him so much.

Here our some photos of lil' bits very first Valentine's!
