There was a time where it took me about two weeks to get to the next town over in the game, and that’s when I was first starting out. At the time, I explored, and I loved just being able to play.

I saw my friends playing this game back then. When I was at one of their houses, I got to try the game. I remember being super excited to try it. I ended up making a night elf and playing for about a half hour, looking at the quests and slaying boars, and having a really good time with my friend showing me how to play. I was hooked. I wanted to get this game as soon as I could. I didn’t have the money though. It wasn’t until a year later that I was able to get it for my birthday. I used all the money that I saved up and made sure to have enough to keep my subscription going. I spent so much time in the night elf area of Teldrassil. Teldrassil is a massive World Tree. The World Tree is the zone. You were on top of it. It was located just off the northern coast of Kalimdor.

The music in the zone is amazing, and it’s one of the reasons I spent so much time there. There is something magical about the area that I have always loved. Even to this day, I have been playing MMOs to relax at the end of the day, and the zone just speaks to me. Letting me get lost in a virtual world for a few hours.

I have two spots in the area that are little happy places that I go to all the time to fish. Fishing is a profession that I have always loved since the beginning. It’s something so simple, yet relaxing to the point sometimes I fall asleep when I work on it. It’s more of a waiting game as you click. When the bobber shakes, then you click on it and you can loot anything from an old boot to magnificent fish to sell or cook to create food to have during your adventures.

The two areas are the Docks, just south of Dolanaar. There is a peaceful setting there. It’s one of the first places I saw when I was exploring outside the starting zone.

I would need to get the fishing profession if I wanted to fish from the dock, so I had to head into the city nearby to train it from a professional trainer. The trainer is located at the docks near the bank in the city of Darnassus.

The city map shows the docks with the fishing icon I added to the map. This happens to be the second spot I love to be in. It’s a beautiful place to relax with the music of Darnassus.

After I got the fishing profession, I ended up going back to the docks south of Dolanaar, where I ended up fishing for a few days. Anytime I got the chance to play, I would be fishing. I still do this when I don’t feel like doing much in the game.

I love the look of this zone so much. I enjoy my time in this part of the game. Even though it’s a low-level area, it’s one of my first memories in World of Warcraft that I will keep with me forever.
