Rain, Rain...

It's been raining, and raining, and raining. I went out to get these pictures and it was still raining. I am superstitious. Too superstitious to buy an umbrella. I have this fear that as soon as I buy an umbrella it will stop raining. Silly, I know because we have gotten so much rain. So, I'm soaked.
The creek is running about as high as we have ever seen it. Our pond is full and over flowing. All the draws are running high. I went to eat with Bubba at his school today. I wore mud boots. Our drive is running about 4 inches of water down to the creek. I hate wet socks. It's supposed to keep on raining.....I hope it does. I love it!

Lala's First Talk

Image

She wrote her talk. It was about her family. She said,
"Heavenly Father gave ma a family. They love me.
Daddy lets me sleep on his side of the bed.
Mommy likes it when i pick flowers for her to put in her hair.
Ben helps me play legos.
Max gets me snacks and drinks.
Hope reads me stories at bedtime.
Jade lets me play with her doll stroller.
I am thankful for my family. I love them."
She did a great job. She spoke clearly and loud. Her dad and I are so very proud of our little Sunbeam.

First Day of School 2009

I don't think anyone slept well last night. We were all excited and nervous. Dear hasn't been sleeping well lately. Today was the first day of trial for him and he's got that on his mind plus working inhuman hours. Not to mention missing the first day of school with the kids.
Lala was at the foot of the bed gagging all night. Muffy was laying next to me. She was too excited to sleep. I think Baby is the only one oblivious to the excitement all around her.
Lala threw up all the way to school and back home. It took a hour in traffic just to get them there on time. And Bubba was late.
On a good note, chances are it will get better. Right? All in all it could have been much worse, I have a new respect for single moms. Dang I love these kids. They sure are fun to have around, and handy little buggers too.

Friends

It has come to my attention lately what a huge part of my life my friends play. It seems that thru thick and thin, friends are always there. I just wanted to take a moment and thank my friends for putting up with me. I love you all and I appreciate having each of you in my life.

Karaoke at Mardi Gras Seafood

So, on Saturday we traveled up to Mt. Pleasant, TX to visit my mom and dad. We went to this seafood restaurant called Mardi Gras. It's a barn converted with picnic tables and a bar and a stage. There is a huge pot outside where they boil all you can eat craw fish. I ordered a boiled dinner. Shrimp, gumbo, a potato, corn cob. Dad got the craw fish (eyeballs and all) to the delight of the kids. When the karaoke started we all started teasing each other about going up and singing. My brother Max and I sang Jackson by Johnny and June Carter Cash. (Max totally rocked it, if you've heard me sing, enough said.) It was such a great time.

The hiatus

So I've been on a blogging hiatus. Mostly because I have not had anything to say. Several times I logged in and sat in front of a blank page and nothing came to me. Obviously, I'm not doing much better now. I'm drawing a blank. I have tonz of pictures which I will download and post soon. I promise. Until then, sorry I got nothing.

Where in the world
