Sawyer's new pillow

A friend of mine has asked me to make a few pillows for her business and so to make sure I knew what I was doing, I thought I'd make a sample. Since I knew it would take a little time, I wanted to be able to keep it. So, Sawyer got a new pillow!! I really like how it turned out. And so did my friend, she hired me :)

Project house

So around the dennis domain, we have had a series of projects. Some have taken a few days, others...weeks. I have been a terrible blogger, but I'd like to blame it on the projects. Here is one I am very proud of. My friend Sharon from reinvented vintage came over to help. I LOVE how it turned out. Thanks Sharon!!

burp cloths

I made this set of custom burp cloths and a bib for my sister's friend and I love how they turned out. The fabric is cute and then putting a name or initials always makes it cuter. The set costs $30. Makes a great shower gift!!

Sewing

In my free time, I have started pursuing my hobby a little more seriously and I've gotten really excited about sewing. I got a new machine a few weeks ago and I am still learning all the innumerable things that it can do. So far I can do anything from custom burp cloths and bibs, to monogramming, towels, valances, etc. You name it and I can do it or at least give it a shot. Here are a few samples of items I have made for Sawyer and/or family members, and the various fabrics you can choose from if you ever need a baby/shower gift or something for your own little one. I haven't nailed down all the pricing details at this point, so let me know what you need and we'll figure out the cost. ImageImage

Which one is bigger?

Josh and I are doing The Maker's Diet and as such, one of the allowable foods is turkey. So I decided to get a turkey and pretend it was Thanksgiving. Not really, because we can't actually eat about 3/4 of what we would on Thanksgiving, but since I had the turkey I thought it would be funny to see who weighs more, Sawyer or the Turkey? I don't really know, I'll have to weigh Sawyer to see, but my bet is on Sawyer by a couple of pounds.

Down on the Farm

There is a little (actually really big) place in Monticello, AR we like to call the "Farm". It's not a working farm, there are no animals (only the ones brought from their respective homes) and it has all the amenities of home; Running water, electricity, gas and city sewage. But even so, it is still a haven for those of us in the Dennis family. A place we can go to get away. Could I ever be completely happy living and raising my kid there? No, but it is a great place to relax and not be distracted by things at home. On Memorial day, we went to the farm and had so much fun! Here are some pictures to show you just how glorious the Farm is.
