So I haven't written in a long while. I though since I have a minute of peace I might give it a try. The summer flew by as do all the fun things in life. We were looking forward to it for so long and then BOOM it's over. We spent 4 weeks in Montana and had many visitors while we were there. We had a great time playing. The children are becoming expert tubers and good on our new ski trainer.
Now we are back into the swing of real life. School has been going for almost a month now. Sommer is in grade 6 and Olivia in grade 2. They both seem happy with their teachers for the most part. Sommer is even taking the bus! To be honest Erik and I have been a little bored at home. I am working hard on keeping up with the house and the laundry, but that is boring. I'm starting to really think about what I will do with my time. Next year Erik will start kindergarten and then what will I do? He is my little buddy. All of my sisters are having babies and I am moving on. I'm going to have to get some friends.
Sean is still busy on the high counsil and I was recalled to be the second counsellor in the young women. Church definitely helps to keep us busy. Sean is still running. He is running a 10k in Banff this weekend. Sommer is taking piano again. She will be going in to young women in February. I'm excited to be her leader. I can't believe she is that OLD! Olivia and Erik play when they don't fight. We had stake conference last weekend and Sean was asking the kids what they thought of the Stake President's challenge to change one thing in our lives to be more Christlike. Olivia said when Sean asked her what she would like to change, "I don't listen to that stuff in church!" To which Sean said, "maybe that's what you should change." Oddly enough she was asked to give a talk in primary on Sunday about listening to General Conference.
Erik basically potty trained himself this summer. We were very excited. It was so easy and he almost never has had an accident. The only problem is that is now completely obcessed with his private parts. One part imparticular. Is this a boy thing? I literally have no boy experience so this is all new. At this point I'm just happy when he keeps in his pants when we are out in public. I over heard a hilarious conversation between Liv and Erik when they were getting out of the tub. Erik got out and looked at himself and said "aw it's small." Liv replies, "don't worry it will grow and then you can hold more pee in it" Then Erik said, "i wish i had hair on it" at that point I moved them along. The things that come out of their mouths crack me up. There are way more. I need to do better at writing them down.
Well the rest of the week is very busy. I have a meeting for Sommer's outdoor school tonight and Sean has a stake calendaring meeting as well. Bummer because Thursday night TV is looking really good. Tomorrow I go on a youth temple trip. Saturday Sean runs his race and then we are going to a wedding in airdrie for most of the day. Sean has another neeting on Sunday night. Hopefully next week will be not so meetingy. Erik and Liv are watching Goonies right now. I hope it's not too scarey. By the way the weather this September has been absolutely amazing. I hope it lasts. Well there's some random typing for you. Enjoy!

Erik fell asleep while riding in the front of the boat.
Sean and his Dad riding on the tube. As always I am driving the boat, and this time trying to take a picture at the same time.
Sean has a serious armpit hair problem and Erik is quite disgusted.
Our little guitar hero. He was getting a little addicted.
One of the 2 bald eagles we see regularly around the lake.

Old Friends in Utah
While in Utah we were able to visit with some old friends of Sean from his highschool days. The top picture is with the Stringhams. The bottom pictures are playing mini golf with the Hada's.
Family in Utah
We stayed in a hotel close to Amy and Brad. It was fun to be able to visit with them. The kids loved playing with their cousins and were so sad to leave them. Their favorite part was swimming in the hotel pool. By the end of the trip even Erik was swimming around the pool on his own while wearing a floaty around his waist. He said and I quote, "my love swimming".
