We got a little pre-Halloween action in this week with family night at the pumpkin patch, a school carnival and a "grown-ups" Halloween party. I actually tried to take good pictures at the pumpkin patch-to no avail. My kids don't listen to me about anything else, so I don't know why I would think that telling them to look at the camera or to smile would be any different. Hope you all are having a wonderful Autumn as well.

Pretty In Pink
M is 5! We had a Pink Princess Tea Party with 10 other 5 year old girls-all dressed in pink. So cute. I will have it known that I don't like pink. I've never been able to pull it off. I also think I just never liked being told what I was "supposed" to like, or do for that matter. So I grew up kind of anti-pink I guess you could say, and anti-all things girly in general. But my M. Oh my M. She would wear only pink every day if she could. So it was all pink for her birthday. Pink Jello, pink decor and pink mac n'cheese. The Mac, you will see, looked disgusting but the girls loved it. My sister Jenn surprised M by bringing her friend Cinderella to the party. A good time was had by all.

oh my.
It has been sooooo long. hello friends. I was going to say that I can't believe that summer is over and here it is almost October. Oops. We had a truly wonderful summer. Lots of little trips and 1 big drive up the west coast to Victoria. Jonathan started his MBA at Pepperdine in August(he has class in the evenings) and my baby girl started kindergarten. i can't believe she is in school.
On a purely informational note, i commented recently on FB about how great everyone has been with helping out and all of my far away friends started writing me asking what was wrong. i thought this was a more appropriate venue to explain. my health has not been great as of late- anemia/thyroid stuff and i had to have a couple of surgeries last week. i am recovering well and my ward here is incredible. my mom came for the first couple of days, but the ladies in my ward have been amazing. somebody takes M to and from school and I to and from pre-school and they've helped with Hudson and meals every night. It's been really overwhelming. I've never experienced anything like it. I'm much more comfortable ( as most of us are) with being on the giving end of the whole service thing, but the women here make it so easy. i know that moving here was so in the plan and have been so blessed.
anyway- i'm pretty tired but wanted to get something on here and explain why i have been such a horrible friend. kind of anyway. i love you all and will get around to phone calls and emails as my strength returns.
just some random pics of the kids.

Easter Fun!
So what do you do when your parents, who live in sunny California, go to Utah for Easter? You go to their house anyway and you take some friends with you. Seriously, who does that? My parents are no strangers to me bringing friends to vacation at their house, but normally they are there. We missed you mom and dad but we had so much fun at the house. Here's Renae blowing bubbles for the kids, for like 40 minutes. She almost passed out, but the kids had a ball.

THE HUNT

This is Isaac's favorite face right now. Mom is about done with it.
Keeping the kids out of the pool was somewhat of a challenge. How do you explain Easter/Conference Sunday to a 3 year old. "No we don't go to church today and yes we are running around the backyard in non-church clothes looking for candy, but we can't go swimming cause it's Sunday."
