Veteran's Day
We had Great Grandma and Grandpa over on Veteran's day and they told the boys about Grandpa's time in in the War. I was proud of how locked in they were. They (who am I kidding, Lincoln was crazy - but Dex and Ev were great) listened to all the detail of the flying patterns and everything. It was fun for us to have them in our home.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN
I hated Halloween as a kid and don't like it too much now either, but my boys and my wife love it! The boys change their mind about twice a day leading up to the time when their mother makes their costumes. Dex obviously settled on being a Black Widow (like the lady bug in Bugs Life - shew fly, don't bother me! - meaning he is not a girl!!!!) Ev is a Fierce Indian Warrior (he just happens to look really pretty, but he is NOT A GIRL!!!) Lincoln, well he ended up being a graduate because his head is as big as mine when I graduated from college, so the costume was a synch! They love making their costumes, by they I mean their mom also.
Ev went on a field trip with some pre-schoolers in South Ogden to a corn maize and more in West Haven. I heard Meg went down the slide more that the boys did. She love a good thrill.
Boys will be momma's boys
we put grass in a few weeks ago. the boys were real excited, they kept praying that we would get grass before Christmas. Maybe we can tell them that the yard is their present on Christmas morning.
We(meg) have always taken pictures of our boys in the tub. they are some of our favorite pictures over the years.
One of Owens first Story times with all of his brothers. In this story, the boys are all assigned a part. I think Owen is a monster in this one. (click on the picture to enlarge)
Grandma Sharon made this sign when we came home from the hospital. We kept it up in our decor-less house for weeks. it was nice to have something on that wall.
Everett holds Owen as much as he possibly can. He loves baby boo-boo. (name that Dex and Ev call him).

Ev with little "O"
BABY OWEN!!!!!
Owen Gilson was born October 9, 2008, one day before his brother Lincoln's birthday and four days after his brother Everett's birthday. He was 8 lbs and 11 oz, 20 1/2 inches long. He didn't seem to come from the same carbon copy that all 4 (even Isaac) of his other brothers did, as he looks a little different to us than did all the others. When I went back to the Hospital with the boys a few hours later, he did look a bit less swollen.
Megan is fine, as you can tell - she always looks so pretty after having just been in labor.
Brett, is this spiritual or what?

bone graft knee surgery
My third knee surgery and I am scheduled for my fourth 9 months from now. This one was just to prepare for my next ACL reconstruction. Basically, what we did was take all of the screws out from prior surgeries and fill the holes. This was supposed to be a bone graft from my hip, but instead the doctor used something else. I was unable to talk to him so I won't know what the substitute was until I talk to him on Monday. All I know is that i didn't have to get my hip split open and can't tell you how happy I am for that.

more decor
Megan reupholstered the little gold chair herself. It was her first reupholstery job ever. The chair is cool (not comfortable) and looks cool in the room. The canvas' (there are four) on the mantle are now hanging and we have painted them dark brown. Our plan is to let the kids paint them with all the colors in the room, but they look really cool just plain so we may not get to that right away.
Decor
We obviously are not finished with putting our home together, but these are few of the things that we have done. We decided against wood blinds, thinking that we could be a little less obvious, and decided to go with this up-down option from Hunter-Douglas. We actually like it a lot. There are so many options that give the room a different look. We also bought our first new furniture we have ever had in our lives! No more hand me downs (at least upstairs).
Our New Home

These are the pictures of our new home (from the MLS) that we moved into in May of this year. We moved from South Ogden to Morgan. We are very excited about it and love the extra space that we didn't have in our old home built in 1950. It has kind of been surreal for us and sometimes we don't even feel like this is really where we live. We miss our old home and old ward and don't feel like we completely fit in with our new community, but I guess it took time at our old place too. Our task now is to try and put our yard in which we are finding is not easy nor cheap. So we have gotten rid of our weeds and i have made my first attempt at leveling the place but all we have is dirt right now (and for a little while longer I am sure).
