This happened.

In case anyone missed it (which I doubt was possible for anyone living in America, especially Alabama), Auburn won the national championship.

It was a BIG DEAL. Even for those of us who live on the other side of the world.

Image

We started off by inviting all of our Auburn friends (and there are quite a few of us over here, something close to 20) over to our house on Monday night for a chili “tailgate.” We downloaded a few games from earlier this season and had them running all night. I wish I had taken a picture of the decor, but let me assure you that we were decked out, thanks to a gift of Auburn gear (tablecloth, napkins, cups, balloons!) from a friend who was here last year.

Image

We woke up first thing Tuesday morning and gathered at another friend’s house to watch the actual game. Here are Meg and Lauren, decked out.

Image

We projected the game onto a blank wall and all 20(ish) of us sprawled out all over the room.

Things started off pretty well for the Tigers…

…but got tense before it was all over.

But when all was said and done, and Auburn was (officially, this time) the national champion, there was joy that could not be contained.

2010 in Pictures

So much has happened this year, not least among which is the fact that we moved continents. Here are some photos of our year in review.

In March, we hosted Easter in Chattanooga for both sets of families,  Gregorys and Farnsworths. It was so great to be able spend the holiday at our own home with both of our parents and siblings.

ImageThen in May, Mary Emily, Farnsworth sister #3, graduated from Auburn!

We went to the lake, a lot, with this clan.

We moved out of this place, our first home together as a married couple.

Image

But then we got to go to Colorado for the summer.

Image

We came back in time to marry off Mark (Michael’s little brother) and welcome Holley to the family.

ImageAnd then we moved to the other side of the world and ate meals like this.

Image

We went on some adventures.

Michael grew his beard out.

And, of course, we bonded with our awesome Asian family.

There’s so much more that could be added, but hopefully these pictures give you an idea (and will help us to remember) some of the main highlights of 2010.
