Spa Treatments

Last Saturday I was able to get a facial done by my friend Janelle and it was super amazing! She puts all kinds of different creams and lotions on your face and sort of massages it in. My favorite was this peppermint stuff that makes your face tingle a bit, which is followed by this cool creamy lotion that is super soothing. Then she gives you a neck & shoulder massage. Then massages your whole head and neck some more. It felt so good! We talked for probably the first half, but I was so comfortable and relaxed that she just worked and I listened to the music for the rest. I wanted to share her info so you all could go to her too. :) Really, do it. Go.

In January she will be in the spa every Saturday 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM. And she will be doing night spa from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on the 4th, 11th, 17th, 19th, 24th, 25th & 26th.

She graduates at the end of Januray, so go soon! Believe me it is worth it!

Gonzo the Girl

We have a new family member. Gonzo the Blue Crowned Pionus. His name is Gonzo, although the friend that gave him to me really thinks 'he' is a girl. My friend saved him from a bad home, but couldn't keep him anymore because she is moving. Right now we are just having a trial run with Gonzo to make sure he is a good fit for our family. He can be really loud sometimes, which is basically the only thing that makes us hesitant to keep him forever. We'll see how it goes. The kids LOVE him. And Gonzo especially loves Bailee.

Bailee has no fear of this bird, although it has a beak big enough to take off a couple of her fingers, if it chose.

Gonzo decided to preen Bailee's hair and nibble on her ear. She thought it tickled and was thrilled. 

I think they'll be good friends.

Happy Birthday Bailee!!!

4 years old!

She has been SO excited for her birthday. We had a bunch of friends and family over to celebrate this morning. I didn't get a photo or video of everything, but here is some of the celebration...

My friend, Lacey, made her this adorable chef's hat and apron. She will have so much fun wearing that while cooking with Dad.

She got some cute boots.

And a rescue pack. Like Dora, except not purple. :) (My mom made it for her!)

Pajamas and mini marshmallows, which Riley promptly got a cup for so he could eat some. She was really excited about the marshmallows.

This shows her cute rescue pack a little better. She kept it on, or in her lap playing with the things is in it, ALL day long. She put it in a careful place when she finally went to bed. :) You can see the cute skirt and shirt she got too, which she had to put on soon after opening.


Cute chef! Riley's "cheese" smiles are more of a grimace lately. :)

Thursday Evening Adventure

I made spaghetti and French bread for dinner. After I pulled the bread out of the oven I turned it off and left the door open so the heat would come into the house. Our oven is up high, halfway up our wall. I wasn't worried about the kids touching it because I had them in their seats ready to eat dinner. The kids are eating and I finally sit down with my food. Bailee eats quickly and happily and finishes. I tell her to go get washed up, so she takes off running through the kitchen to get to the bathroom. Oven door meets forehead. She didn't even see it coming. She starts screaming and I run to her. She's got a nice gaping wound that is now gushing blood. We get a paper towel on it quick and she puts pressure on it while I get a wet wash cloth. We get her cleaned up. Luke is at a work meeting so I quickly get Riley washed up from dinner and get both kids bundled up. Off to instacare we go. Bailee didn't cry long and the bleeding mostly stopped. Fortunately at the instacare there was not a line so they helped us quickly. The first photo show's Bailee with the numbing gel and her little headband. She was happily talking to everyone that came in after us. Then we went back to see the doctor. Bailee was pretty excited to sit on the little table by herself. Silly kid, I think she likes to go to the doctor. She layed down and cooperated while the doctor was checking her wound out. He decided to glue it together since it had a nice straight line. Bailee did really well while he did that. I was holding Riley and we were standing up looking down on Bailee. As we were standing there Riley said, "Oh Bailee." And I couldn't agree more. Pretty sure this will not be the last instacare visit... We finished up and went home and she's been doing fine since. Lesson learned, don't leave the oven door open. Ever.

Happy Birthday!

Hallo!

Happy Halloween! Busy day picking grapes all morning. Got a sunburn on my face, which is awesome considering I was out there in short sleeves enjoying the sunshine on Oct 31st! Kids had short naps, visited A Plus Benefits to office trick-or-treat (said hello to cousin Leah, and a lot of friends), went to Cedar Hills to see Grandma Wilkey and show her the kids' costumes, drove to Magna and had a quick bite to eat before we headed trick or treating around the neighborhood with Zoe and Cheyenne. (And my friends Jodi, Millie & Jenna). Went to say hello to Stew & Maggie, pretty sure we woke Maggie up, the kids were pretty loud. (Sorry!) Stopped by Janelle's, but she was still at school. :( Then back to grandma & grandpa's to visit for a while. Now driving home. Almost there!

We had a BUSY Sunday! We went to church with my cousins, because my new baby cousin was getting blessed!

We celebrated Daddy's birthday with Grandpa and Grandma Williams too!

After that we drove to Magna to Grandpa and Grandma Redmond's house!

Do you like my giraffe mask?? It matches my outfit!

My little brother liked to play with Uncle Stewart, Grandpa, and the turtle! He was laughing so hard!

Me and Riley like to play with the toys at Grandma and Grandpa's house! especially when Aunt Maggie and Uncle Stew play with us!

My Aunt Leslie is the coolest. Riley and I were glad to see her this weekend! We love her! And we want to go visit her at her apartment in Logan soon! .......And maybe send her cookies in the mail..... ;)
