Night Out!

ImageGee, I wonder who?

ImageTad, Brian, Luke

We started our evening at Maker's Mark with a couple of Luke's friends from PT school, Tad Melichar and Brian Stewart. Those two always allow for interesting conversation, although I am typically not included in those conversations :) Anyway, we had good food and great company so I am not complaining! Then off to the P&L district where we went to a couple different bars, a country one and a rock one. One had a bull to ride and I saw more "cheek" than I ever care to see again, too bad I forgot my thong and mini-dress or I could have ridden too! ha ha! :) The rock bar had poles to dance with, and Sandy, Michelle and I made use of those-although we were all thoroughly offended when the DJ announced that someone was celebrating their 27th birthday. He then says, "you know what that means. . .you have OLD OVARIES!" WTF? I felt old most of the night, but that was a major buzz-kill, 27 are you kidding me!

Coco Key

We spent a weekend in KC at Coco Key. The big kids had a blast despite the fact the water was FREEZING! The little kids liked the water, but Max was shivering and Tess just wanted to walk in the waist-high water and wipe out repeatedly. We invited Luke's cousin Katie along to help at the water park and then she babysat for all four kids (in a hotel room mind you) as we hit the Power & Light District for some well deserved "grown-up" time. Everyone was asleep when we got back that night, so Katie earned her keep! :)

Preview

Here's a link to a preview of the Christmas cards that many of you will receive :) Jen did a great job (as expected) and there were so many good pictures, it was hard to choose which ones to use on the card. :) click here

Just a random group of photos

Max and Tess got new fuzzy outfits from Aunt Amanda-don't they look cute and warm? Meg is showing her new princess shirt from her birthday. Mason is wearing his "indian vest" that is made from a paper grocery bag and his necklace is made from painted macaroni (obviously a school Thanksgiving oriented craft). There is no painting macaroni at my house-can you imagine the mess? Oh, and pardon the underwear only under the vest, yikes!

Tess and her newest accessory

Tess has discovered the world of hats. None of my other kids liked them when they were little and believe me, I tried to get them to wear them :) Her favorite is the pink cowboy hat (Meg's) and with those little chubby bow-legs, she looks pretty cute!

Meg is 3!

Image
Image
We celebrated Meg's birthday on the 16th. She requested a Tinker Bell party after walking down the party aisle in Target. She received lots of clothes, a new doll (a black doll with no hair-per her request after looking online), accessories for her doll, new storage cubes for her room, a Barbie guitar, princess umbrella, birthday angels, TinkerBell movie, a princess BigWheel, and EZBake oven, and money for her piggy bank. What is sad is that I'm not sure that's everything! She decorated her own pink cupcakes with pink frosting and pink sprinkles and Tinker Bell sugar things (that no one eats) and she actually ate one too-Mason was always a waste of a cake mix-he doesn't like cake. :) Anyway, it's hard to believe she is 3, but then she talks and says to me, "Mom, seriously?" Only my child. . . . .

Girl Time

Image
My friend, Dedra treated me to a manicure and Chili's last night for an early birthday gift.

Just us. . .
no kids. . .
no husbands.
WONDERFUL!
Thanks a bunch Dedra! :)

Costume Party Round 2

Image
Image
Oh yeah, Billy Ray serenading us!

ImageKate the Ninja Turtle and Me, Hannah

I didn't take my camera to the 1st costume party we attended, so I was sure to remember it this time. If you want to see those pics, go here. This little shin-dig was quite entertaining. Luke and I attended as Hannah Montana and Billy Ray Cyrus. Sure we got the jokes about a married couple dressing as a daughter/father combo (you sickos!), but we had a good time.

Max and Tess turn 1!

Image
Need I say anything? 36 weeks and 6 days pregnant with twins-YIKES!

Image
My first attempt at holding them both together. Very awkward at first, but now I am a pro! :)

ImageTess and Max
I am one that usually thinks newborns are cute. Not these two! It took me awhile to see their "cuteness". Thank goodness they didn't look like this for long!

ImageMiss Tessie-Roo showing you she is ONE! (and yes I made their shirts, but my mom had to stitch around them for me 15 minutes before their party was to begin, just didn't seem to have time to get them finished in time!)

ImageOur little Max-mellow. Don't let the sweet look deceive you, they had runny noses and coughs for their birthday and I had given them Benadryl and Tylenol ;)

Halloween

Image
It was our 2nd annual Trick-or-Treating with the Lee's this Halloween. I remember the picture being somewhat crazy last year too, we are going to have to get the kids a little closer together next time so we can actually tell who they are! L to R (ish) Simon-Obi-Wan or Anakin (not sure which one he actually was), Madeline-duck, Isaac-Darth Vader (you can barely see him behind Alex), Alex-cowboy, Mason-Clone Trooper, Andrew-Indiana Jones, Isley-clown, Meg-witch, Max-duck, Tess-bunny. Thanks to Brandon and Sally for the good food and conversation again this year! :)

Future boyfriend?

Image
I have alluded to the fact that Miles and Meg make an awfully cute couple. Is the start of a budding romance, or just something to torture them with when they get older?

Their first haircuts!

Image
Image
Kudos to Brooke for getting both of them shaped up with no major crying and no blood! :) Max now has his "big boy" haircut and Tess is no longer the "bride of Hitler"!

The kids got dressed up and went to the parade/trick-or-treating in Aggieville on a really cold Friday night. They had a blast and I got relieved half way through (I got to leave for work and Luke got to wait during parade and take them all home) :)

Sharing

Image
The babies are really enjoying riding toys and here they are "sharing" their current favorite. We'll see how long it's their favorite and how long the sharing lasts!

They are Walking!

Did I mention that Max and Tess are walking? :) We knew Tess was getting close, then she took a few steps, then 9 in a row without wiping out. Max was weeks behind (we thought) then the next day, he decided to stand up and go 7 steps! Tess is now walking around the house at least 1/2 the time, but Max is a little more hesitant. I have a little video of Tess, but haven't gotten one of Max.
When am I going to learn to not turn my camera sideways when I am using the video feature? :)

Zac

Image
My oldest nephew, Zac, is having surgery today in Reno, NV. Yes, they still live in McLouth, but the injury he received while playing football could not be fixed at KUMed. His Dr. referred him to a Dr. out in Reno that had seen the same type of injury and was willing to work with him. He will have plates/screws placed in his hip socket due to damage caused when it was dislocated. Please keep him and his parents in your prayers. He is expected to be in the hospital 3-4 days and will not be cleared to fly home until a week from today. WE LOVE YOU ZAC!

Mocha Joe

ImageI am totally addicted to the BK Mocha Joe. I am NOT a coffee drinker and this is a "coffee" drink. However, it tastes like really good chocolate milk with hint of coffee! YUMMY! So I googled it today ;) and it says it is comprised of 40% BK Joe Coffee, 40% Vanilla Shake Mix, 20% chocolate syrup served over ice. Do you think a vanilla protein shake would work? Carnation instant breakfast? I am going to start my experiment because at $2.36 a piece, I need to learn to make it at home!

A little visit

Image
My friend Heidi, her 3 month old daughter Brenna and Heidi's mom Leanna came up and spent a few days with us. Brenna has some characteristics of her mom, but that full head of dark hair comes straight from her daddy. You could put the girls hair in a ponytail almost! Meg had fun playing with a "baby" and Brenna was very tolerant until I tried to scrub her cradle cap (she cried harder than she ever had). We had a great time although Heidi really came to work and I spent more time with her Leanna and Brenna, than her. Next time, there is no work allowed! :)

Max

Image
My little Max-mallow is now turning into Mischievous Max. If he is near Tess or Meg, he is pulling their hair. If he is near me, he is biting my knee/leg/foot or climbing on me to get whatever it is that he can't quite reach. But how can you get angry at a face like this? ;)

First Sleepover!

Image
Owen and Miles came over to play today since their dad is out of town this weekend. They all ran around like crazies then Luke suggested that Owen spend the night. We enticed him with sleeping in the tent in sleeping bags and they are asleep as of 10:30 pm. We'll see if they stay asleep or if we end up taking Owen home in the middle of the night! :)

see my teeth?

Image
ImageI didn't crop the one of them together, but Max has 6 teeth now and Tess has 4! Amazingly they play with those drumsticks and don't clobber each other, yet! :)

Play "date"

Image
Looking into the future. . . is this what it will be like when Meg starts "dating"? Miles was easy to take care of and they had a great time playing together. It's amazing how differently they play when their older siblings aren't around!

It's Rodeo Time!!!!!!!!!!

Mutton Buster Shirt FREE

As you can see the Longford Rodeo was a real hit this year, literally. Well, maybe a Stompin' good time? :) Mason participated in the Mutton Bustin' again this year and got trampled by his sheep. He came off the arena floor crying with dirt in his front teeth, a nasty strawberry on his side and under his chin, and was ready to "just go home".
