As you can see the Longford Rodeo was a real hit this year, literally. Well, maybe a Stompin' good time? :) Mason participated in the Mutton Bustin' again this year and got trampled by his sheep. He came off the arena floor crying with dirt in his front teeth, a nasty strawberry on his side and under his chin, and was ready to "just go home".

Mr Clean
I was so sad that Alice wasn't here to clean this week :( Most of you know that my Christmas present from Linda was a weekly house cleaning and it has been WONDERFUL! I know I couldn't possibly keep up! So when the vacuum comes out, my kids think it's a new toy (because it only comes out when Alice is here). Max thought he was helping me, doesn't he look like such a big boy?!
A little road trip
My friend Celeste was in KC last weekend. Her little guy, Cass, just turned one and made his first trip to Kansas! So the babies and I packed it up and headed for a little road trip to go visit them. Here is Tess, Max, Kyler and Cass. They are all within 5 months or so of age and they played "next to" each other, but not together. We had a great time, the trip was painless ;) and we can't wait to get together again!

First Day of Kindergarten!
Well, I officially have a "school-aged" child! I can't believe my baby is old enough for school. We went to back-to-school night and met his teacher, Mrs. Moran. She seems nice and Mason talks to her like he has known her all his life. It is tradition to take a picture on the porch with your backpack on the first day and he was proud to be wearing his Marlatt Mustang shirt the first day. He said to me on the first day, "Mom, do you have to take me to school or can I just ride the bus? I've never ridden a school bus before." Seriously, he is embarrassed of me already? ;) We decided to take him the first day, but I let him ride the school bus today. We all walked down to the corner and waited for the bus that arrived promptly at 7:51 am. (I know it looks like the stroller is falling over, it's just a steep hill). Oh, and that's him peeking out the window behind the #37 - he seems so small!

a fun weekend
So two (maybe three?) weekends ago we decided to go spend a night in the camper at the lake (Wakefield). Friday night started off at home with Mason puking in his bed and running a low grade fever. So start the wash and head to the duplex to clean/paint then off to the lake Saturday night. Brent and Erica and kids joined us for a BBQ and then we decided to head to the water. Big kids and the men went on the boat, Erica and I headed to military marina with Owen, Max, and Tess. (doesn't seem fair huh? three kids aged 1 or under? :) ) So we unload at the beach and just decide to let them have at it. My kids are repeatedly crawling into the lake (which was GREEN) and are eating sand, sticks, and labels off of beer bottles. We are waiting, waiting, waiting and finally I check my phone and the boat died in the lake and got towed back to shore. We clean up the three littles and head back to the camper and make smores and sit around and talk while the kids play. Our family is all tucked in the bed in the camper and Meg starts coughing and proceeds to throw up in the one and only bed. Luke and I are trading off styrofoam bowls for her to puke in and dump in the toilet (thank goodness for electricity and running water in a camper!) Everyone is good Sunday morning and we head back home. Sunday night, Meg willingly goes to bed early and has been on antibiotics for 5 days now for an ear infection. Mason claims he is "sick" and needs to sleep in our bed (he is running a fever again). So about 9pm, Mason pukes in OUR bed and within 30 minutes Meg is crying in her bed-Luke thinks the sewer backed up when he opens her door. Nope, she has diarrhea in bed in her "big girl" panties! So Luke walks out and says, "we are running out of beds". :) Just another fun time at our house. . . .
