Getting ready for a party of five!!

It is true, we are going to be a family of five! With that you need a bigger car. Everyone knew it was coming .... it is official, we own a MINIVAN! We bought the Honda Odyssey, it was the most recommended and has incredible safety features. We bought it last week and I already feel like a pro driving it. No turning back now .... guess I will have to wait on that BMW I wanted for my 30th birthday :)

Image
Along with our busy week of minivan shopping we had a few pictures taken of Tyson for Christmas and his birthday. This past week he has shown a ton of interest in Christmas. He will want to dance to the music and sing fa la la la la. He is starting to understand what is going on for the holiday. He knows we are celebrating a birthday for Jesus and will put his hands together to pray and say AMEN. We need all the prayers we can get : ) Here are a few pictures from this week.

Growing together, Tyson and Mommy!

The holiday music is on the radio, the neighborhood is decorated with big red bows, evergreens, and strings of lights .... Christmas season is here!! We decorated our tree and put out our holiday decorations this past weekend. Tyson was much more into helping this year!

"Mommy what is that?" "Daddy ... look ... look!" "Mommy what is that?" "Daddy ... look ... look!"It is so exciting to see how he reacts to all of the new things happening around the house. It seems like he turned 2 and grew up overnight!

The other day Tyson started saying full sentences. We were playing on the couch and I was making him laugh, he looked right at me and said "Mommy you tickle me" it was the cutest thing I have ever heard!! He will ask where the babies are at and put his hands high up in the air and then give my belly kisses. He loves, loves, loves his daddy and nobody can take him away from daddy time. He is learning all there is to know about cars and trucks and will point them out in every parking lot and on the road! He is really into books and now loves to draw (he has new drawing toys to use in the bathtub and he thinks those are the most fun)

On another note we are moving right along in the pregnancy. The twins are doing great. We had a doctor's appointment Monday. Baby A - heart rate of 150 Baby B - hear rate of 170, the doctor comments that they sound strong and that I am doing well. She said to keep doing whatever I have been doing and they will see me back in a few weeks. The big ultrasound is scheduled for Jan. 5. We will find out then if we have girls, boys, or one of each.

I would love to find out every one's opinion ... let me know what you think we are having!!!

Check out these pics from the weekend : )

Happy Birthday Tyson!

We had a blast celebrating Tyson's 2nd birthday! Thanks to everyone that came! We spent the day at Run, Jump and Play. We spent so much time running, and jumping and playing that we ran out of time to open presents!! Don't worry Tyson had plenty of time to open them once we got home. Good thing we finished the basement ... !!! We are so thankful for all of our family and friends that spent the day with us.

A look back at 2 years!!

Only 1 week left before our little baby Tyson is 2!! So in all reality he is not my little baby any more!!

It has been an amazing 2 years. He has brought so much love and joy into our lives. From the day he arrived 6 weeks early he has been an ever changing character. He has not only taught me what it feels like to be a mother but he has taught me what really matters in life. It is up to us to mold him and teach him how to grow up to be a strong leader and live an fulfilling life. We were overwhelmed with responsibility when he came into this world! As he grows and shows us what he is capable of we could not be more satisfied with what we have done so far. With each year comes a new hurdle ... GOD BLESS THE TERRIBLE TWO'S!!

I thought it would be fun to share a few photo's starting from the day the Lord blessed us with Tyson!

THE BIG NEWS!

The big news is that Tyson is going to be a big brother! Yes ... we are expanding our family again.

THE BIGGER NEWS! We are having TWINS!!!

The Story
It all started with an early pregnancy test that clearly had the little pink plus sign. Then three more to follow ( the digital kind ... you know the one that says the word "pregnant" ) for me to believe it. That day I went and bought Tyson a shirt that said "big brother" and made sure he was wearing it when daddy got home from work. We start thinking about how exciting this will be and what is is going to be like with a baby and Tyson!! We walked into the doctor's office calm as good be, knowing that everything is fine with the baby and we cannot wait to see the little heartbeat on the screen. It seemed like forever until they called my name ...

As the doctor pulled this tiny little baby up on the screen we automatically notice something is different. He quickly moved around my belly to check thoroughly and then clear as day .... TWO HEART BEATS!!!

We could not believe our eye! Now this was amazing, exciting and unreal all at the same time. My heart was beating so loud I think the doctor could hear it. Brian said his feet just went numb. So ... with that we are now expecting two babies. Since then we have had another ultrasound and the babies look healthy and they are growing fast (so am I)

The reactions
Here are some of the famous reactions we have heard already ...

"You are going to be huge"
"What are you going to do"
"You are going to have your hands full"
"That will be a crazy house"
"My sisters best friends moms cousin had twins"
"Do you have a big enough house"

I am sure there will be plenty more to come ... and we are more than happy to hear them all! We are so excited and blessed to bring twins into the world. Please keep the babies in your prayers as they grow strong and healthy in the months to come.

Lastly ... I know sorry long post.

We welcomed two new bundle of joys into the world through our family and friends.

Kane Hunter Jones was born Friday October 17 weighing over 8 lbs - Congratulations to Megan, Rob, and Keegan as their family grows.

Evan Bradford Spice was born Friday October 24th weighing 7lbs 11 oz - Congratulations to Elizabeth and Will as you experience how much joy he will bring to your life.

Dress Rehearsal - Howdy Partner!!

We had a costume dress rehearsal tonight - Tyson could not wait to try on his cowboy gear. We have a big week planned next week. Grandma and Pawpa Rose are coming in to watch Tyson in his Halloween parade at school. The cowboy himself will be making an appearance at a fall festival party on the 29th and then we will trick or treat again on the 31st!

More pictures to come of the big week but here is quick preview of the costume : )

Good as New!!

UPDATE: Tyson made it through the tube surgery just fine! As we expected the day was more complicated for Brian and I. We cannot compliment the hospital staff enough, they were fantastic. We were lucky enough to get a spot at the new Children's Hospital campus that opened up closer to home so we did not have to make the drive downtown. The facility was amazing and the staff took great care of Tyson. Once we arrived Tyson was placed in his own room full of plenty of toys and his own flat screen to watch cartoons. He refused to wear the hospital scrubs so we went back to the operating room in just a diaper. Once we got back to the room Brian and I stayed with him until he was under ... this was the hard part. I held him while they gave him the anesthesia. As we left the room they were handing me tissues. Not even 20 minutes later the Doctor came out himself to tell us that Tyson did great! They took us right back to see him. He bounced back very quickly and was back to his energetic self not even 24 hrs later! He seems to be doing well and I have not seen him tug as his ears in almost a week!

I updated some pics of Tyson. The 1st is right before we left for his surgery ... he is pointing to his ear. We tried to explain to him what he was going to have done that day. The following are pics of Tyson getting his first boxing lesson from daddy ... !!

PE Tubes

After almost 2 solid years of non-stop ear infections Tyson will be having surgery on Thursday October 2nd. He will be having PE Tubes inserted by Myringotomy: (Small incision made in the eardrum) They will put him under using general anesthesia by mask. They will remove any fluid that is built up and clean his ears of any infection. The will insert what is called a T-tube that could remain in place for several years. We will be able to stay with him until he is under and they will bring him right back to us before he wakes up. I am sure Brian and I are much more anxious about the whole process than Tyson is or will be. The procedure is only supposed to take 20 minutes in the operating room and we are told Tyson will be back to normal in no time. Hopefully this is the answer we have been waiting for and Tyson can finally be ear infection free! Please keep him (and us) in your thoughts a prayers. We know this is a very common procedure but when it is your own child it seems so much more intense. I will follow up with his recovery.

On another note Tyson has a new favorite thing ... Power Wheels!! If he sees one in the neighborhood he flips out and HAS to drive it. We went to the neighborhood playground last night and a little boy let Tyson drive his. You would have thought it was the end of the world when we had to tell Tyson his turn was over. Put it this way ... the rest of the walk home anyone with their windows open (or maybe closed) might have though he was seriously injured. Tears, screams and kicking ... YIKES. I guess we know what Tyson will be getting for his birthday and maybe EARLY!

One last thing Tyson move up to the Toddler room at school. They sit at the table (no highchairs) for lunch and they will work on using the potty. Big things to come!

I will post a few pictures later this weekend!!

Happy Retirement PaPaw Rose!

We spent the weekend in Atlanta celebrating Papaw Rose's retirement. Congratulations! We completely missed the wind storm and we are so thankful that we came home to a damage free house. We are praying for those that did experience damage and hope that everyone is doing okay.
The weekend was full of plenty of excitement. We started the celebration with a very nice dinner out with Papaw's work crew and the family. We were all treated to a very nice dinner and even better, a ton of stories and pictures from Papaw's 38 years with Alcan! It was amazing to hear how others care for him just as much as we do!
Saturday Brian had his first Naga tournament. We are very proud of Daddy, he did very well and walked out with only a sore arm. It was really neat to watch, the weight classes started with 35lb 4 year olds all the way up to Masters age 40 and up. I think we know what Tyson will be doing once he turns 4. All of the kids looked so cute in their Karate outfits! Bill, Michelle, Billy and Sammy spent the day with us along with Grandma and Papaw. Thanks for cheering uncle Brian on!
Sunday we spent the day out at the lake with the whole family, Great Grandma Rose even made it out. She will be 90 next year and seems to be doing well. We were grateful to see everyone and so glad that everyone came out to celebrate with us!
