New Room!

I just wanted to post a few pictures of Tyson's new room! He has forgotten all about the nursery and his crib .... Officially a big boy (as soon as we can find a way to get rid of that pacifier!) He says it is okay now for the babies to move in to his old room anytime : )

We are waiting for a Route 66 sign and map to put on the finishing touches! He can wake up in a "Cars" world everyday and he is loving it!

Just for the record Brian and Grandpa Jones painted the checkered flag wall ... I was really impressed!

The Unexpected Weekend!

The last few days around the Jones household hold have been filled with unexpected circumstances.

We will start with Thursday. As we picked Tyson up from daycare yet another notice is given to us that a confirmed case of Pertussis ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pertussis ) was in his class. We were directed to see our pediatrician's office for further instructions on what to expect. This was the second confirmed case in six weeks! I called the doctor right away and Tyson was in the next morning (Friday) by 8:30. He has had his immunizations but they went ahead and put him on an antibiotic and instructed us to keep him away from anyone that could be infected for at least 5 days. Also she mentioned that it may not be safe to have him around any other small children.
There goes the plans for the weekend, no public places, no visit to see new baby Evan, no Sunday school, church, or Sunday afternoon wedding showers! WOW!

To top that crazy circumstance we also had a sick dog. As of Friday morning Dozer had been outside getting sick since 4 A.M. and had not eaten for 2 days. Brian came straight home form work and took him to the vet, blood work shows he as the early stages of Pancreatitis ( http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=2+1580&aid=335 ) We were sent home with meds and prescription dog food. After a Saturday full of trying to get him to eat and drink, still no luck. We were back at the vet Saturday night waiting as Dozer was given an IV and fluids.

Update: He seems better today, Sunday, and we have been successful in getting him to eat drink and take his medication. Hopefully we are on the road to recovery!

As for the twins: They are doing great, I feel them moving everyday. Yesterday I think our little girl might have been trying her gymnastics, maybe we have a tumbler on our hands! As for our little boy, certainly and boxer, punches and kicks!

Image I found this picture of my little guy and just had to share. What a difference from playing on the floor to riding his bike!

Image With the weather like spring and a Friday at home with Tyson we took advantage of the day. Here is Tyson trying out his new dirt bike!

Honest Scrap Award

I was taken back to my elementary school days recently. Think of the game of tag as it was played endlessly from the bus stop to the playground. It has now reached the blogsphere. This post is dedicated to the Honest Scrap Award given to me by my friend Aimee.

The rules of this lovely award/game of tag is as follows…
A) You must write 10 honest things about yourself that are interesting (of course, right?)
B) Pass the award along to 7 other bloggers that you feel embodies the spirit of Honest Scrap.

(1) I believe in God and continue daily to grow into a strong Christian. I honestly feel like my life is blessed and pray daily for my families growing faith. I am thankful for the son he has already given me and pray for the twins to be born healthy and strong.

(2) I LOVE sugar! My sweet tooth is out of control. I love any baked goods, couple that with a bowl of ice cream and I have a smile on my face. I can do without the hard candy and gum but nothing is better than a piece of yellow cake with chocolate frosting!

(3) I am in love. I don't tell my husband I appreciate him enough. He is an amazing person that provides for our family and does things around the house. As we both hold full time jobs I sometimes take dinner on the table and loads of laundry finished on a Monday as normal!! My son and the twins are the other loves of my life.

(4) I am a terrible speller. If it was not for spellcheck I would be out of luck.

(5) I don't like getting rid of old things. I will find a reason as to why I need this, and why I need that. I will hang onto a shirt telling myself "I will wear this again, I just know it" Anything that my mother gives me I will not part with.

(6) I am really a sensitive person. Just about any one could give me the guilt trip and I will cave. I need to work on this one as my 2 year olds puppy dog eyes work wonders on me. I will sob when watching Oprah and the latest love story. This is certainly not my fault, right mom? She is the same way.

(7) I admit that I should have listened to my parents a little bit more when I was growing up. They really did know what they were talking about. I owe them for everything that I am today. A successful working mother with the ability to follow in their footsteps to do the same for my family.

(8) I am a morning person. I love a crisp morning on a Saturday when the sun is shining. The time of the morning before you have to worry about getting ready for the day and can relax with a cup of coffee and a hot breakfast with the family.

(9) Fall is my favorite season. The colors are breathtaking. There is nothing like jeans and a sweatshirt.

(10) I have grown to like football! I never thought I would enjoy the game as much as I do now. Cincinnati may not have had the best team this year but the city has taught me how to be a fan!

Here is a belly shot at 19 1/2 weeks!
As for me the doctor says that I seem to be doing well. I have continued to gain weight faster than I did with my first pregnancy, to be expected but still hard to swallow.
A quick THANK YOU to my friend Aimee! I call her at least once a week with a question as she delivered healthy twin girls (The Ash Twins) and I want to be just like her! As soon as I told her the news she bought me a book her doctor had recommended to her (my mother sent me the same one so it must be good) Because of the book "When you are Expecting Twins, Triplets or Quads, Proven Guidelines to a Healthy Multiple Pregnancy" I have remained calm about the sudden changes, well let's face it, the weight gain!! I am not sure I would be getting through all of this without you to go to Aimee .... THANKS!!
Other News: We have finished Tyson's big boy room! I am having issues with this, I feel like I am forcing him to grow up to fast but he is ready for the change. Daddy and Grandpa Jones put hours of effort into an incredible "Cars" room that Tyson can't get enough of. Pictures to come!!

Welcome 2009!

Bring it on 2009 .... What a year we have to look forward to!! This past year has been fun and adventurous with Tyson. Just 5 more months and we will have a new chapter to begin in our family story with the arrival of the twins. We summed the year up with a holiday season full of eating, decorating, giving, and well ... receiving right : )

Tyson had a blast on Christmas morning. Santa left him a few things he wanted! Our 2 year old is fascinated with Cars ... "The movie" and anything that has to do with it! His new big boy room will have more Cars themed items than he is going to know what to do with, Santa brought him the whole kit and caboodle!! His other favorite, the mini boxing bag, he can now be side by side with daddy!!

Along with all of the Christmas morning fun we took a trip to Atlanta. We had 3 full days to spend with Grandma and Papaw Rose, Aunt Michelle, Uncle Bill, Billy and Sammy. Tyson is still asking me where Papaw and BB (Billy) are?? The weather was great the whole trip, 72 degrees and plenty of time to play outside!

Sorry, I posted the pictures in opposite order but you get the idea!
