My Sadie Girl is 2!!!!

Sadie turned 2 on April 5th! I can’t believe how fast time fly’s by! And speaking of fly’s….we flew home from St. George on the 4th so I didn’t have to pay for an extra ticket on the plane. (It turns out Delta’s bag fee’s are as much as a plane ticket anyway, yuck). But we made it back just in time to celebrate this little Bug’s Birthday!

We went out to eat together at Costa Vida as a family. We LOVE that place!

Sadie says, “no, I’m not one anymore…”

“I’m 2!!!!!”

This isn’t a great picture, but I wanted to make sure to show off the tutu! She wanted to wear it so she could be a princess. One day you will see the princess dance ;)

After dinner we came home and had a really small party. Sadie woke up to these decorations on her birthday. 2 was even better than 1…she was so excited! I love it!

Her cousins got her a Scentsy Buddy, “Penny the Pig”…and it smells super yummy!

Sadie’s big present from us was a couch. I found it at the second hand store with an ugly Dora cover on it. Sadie LOVED it. So I decided to be really crazy and re-cover it. With my mom’s help while we were in St. George, I actually made a cover that fits! I sewed at least half of it by myself, and it zips up…so yeah, I’m pretty proud of it!

5, 6, & 7! What a blast!

DAY 5: Saturday, we ate at my FAVORITE restaurant ever. I think it’s just called Hawaiian Grill. Sooooo yummy!!!

100_0554

This is my Brother Bruce and his little girl Madi. Sadie's new best friend! (Too bad they moved away for a while)

100_0556

The best part about the whole place is the shaved ice. It’s really authentic, the kind with ice cream in the bottom. My brother’s was so HUGE I had to take a picture. It was only like $2, my favorite!

After we ate, we stopped by Jo-Ann’s so I could pick up some fabric for Sadie’s birthday present. (More on that to come)…while I was shopping she made herself right at home.

DAY 6: More relaxing and playing in the water. This park is great. It wasn’t around when I lived in St. George, but I love it and so does Sadie. She didn’t want to leave. It’s a big long man-made stream right in the middle of downtown St. George ;)

100_0594 The water was cold and St. George was pretty cold too (not quite usual for April), so after we went home and got warm, we stopped at the temple to show Sadie where Mommy and Daddy got married.

One’s up Baby! (Any of Kyle’s friends who read this {i'm not quite sure why you would} you know what I’m talking about ;) This is a pretty sweet pic.

On Monday we spent the day trying to figure out Sadie’s birthday present again…you will see what I mean soon! Then we packed up and headed to the NEW St. George airport. I have to say, I was expecting something a little bigger, but it’s a start right?!

100_0622

While we waited for my plane, Grammy and Papo bought us some ice-cream.

There is actually 2 levels in the airport…so we went up the stairs to look out, and this is it! Pretty awesome ;)

After flying to Salt Lake and waiting from about 7:50pm to 8:40pm to get on our flight…I thought it would be a great trip, just one more hour and we would be home! I already was a little bummed when I found out the plane was booked and Sadie had to sit on my lap the whole way, but once we got on the plane in Salt Lake we WAITED for 3 Hours on the tarmac. I couldn’t believe it! Luckily, we ended up sitting next to 2 cute Japanese kids who thought Sadie was super fun. They played with her for 3 hours while we waited. She didn’t cry once, it really was a miracle. She also didn’t fall asleep which is no surprise but I couldn’t have asked for a better trip given the circumstances. Needless to say, we were sooooooooo happy to be home and see Daddy!

100_0638

He came running up and gave Sadie and I a huge hug, a cuddly Hippo, and me a flower! Best husband ever, and we missed him so much! It was just after midnight by the time we landed….oh were we glad to be home. And when I walked in the door, this is what I found :)

It says Welcom Bak (out of lego Sadie’s uncle Kurt gave her).

What a fun trip, and equally as excited to be back. Life is good!

Trip Home, Day 1, 2, 3, 4…

It had been a little over a year and a half since I was able to go home to St. George, so this trip was much needed and anticipated.  We were SO excited to go, but SAD to leave Kyle behind.  We had to make the trip before Sadie turned 2 so we wouldn’t have to pay for a full seat.  We made it just in time and came home the day before her birthday.

On our way to the airport!

100_0382

On the way there Sadie was able to sit in the car-seat in her own seat.  That was REALLY great.  She did really well and thought the whole airplane things was pretty fun.  Luckily it was a direct flight to Vegas…

100_0387

And we made it just fine! We spent a little time waiting at the baggage claim

100_0396

And were excited to finally see my parents.

100_0397

We stopped by the body exhibit in the Luxor.  It was SUPER cool!  If you ever find yourself in Vegas, it is a must see.  They are real bodies preserved forever with such cool stuff.  You can see every single detail and they have lot’s of different rooms for different parts of the body.  It was a really great experience and I’m so glad I saw it, bummed I couldn’t take any pictures.

After that we stopped by the Mandalay Bay and checked out the aquarium, next time we’ll see the big shark exhibit there.  I’m saving that for when I’m with Kyle though, he LOVES fish!

I just had to snap a shot of the palm trees to remember forever ;)  So sad I don’t live near them anymore, but I guess that makes it better when  we go visit!

100_0420

100_0421

After a long day, Sadie was pooped.  She rarely EVER falls asleep in her car-seat so when she does, I have to take a picture.  I think I’m up to 5 now…

DAY 1 –Sleep in, relax, and the PARK!

DAY 2 –Shopping and Eating…Jimmy John’s, YUM!!!  Now I don’t have to visit St. George to get a Jimmy John’s.  I’m so excited we have them in Boise now!

DAY 3- Early morning temple trip and the pet store.  I haven’t been back in the St. George temple since I got married (almost 6 years) so it was a great experience.  I just wish Kyle was able to be there too!

100_0459

100_0460

We stopped by the pet store just to see animals, and we found…

100_0462

Amos, Kyle’s pet turtle when he was 6. ;)

100_0469

Sadie loved this Nemo fish, too bad it was plastic ;)  What you don’t know won’t hurt you right!

100_0471

DAY 4- My mom did a triathlon sprint on day 4.  I'm glad I got to be there to watch her, it was super fun.  She did it with 2 other lady friends and she did a great job.

Someday I’ll be doing it with you too, maybe!100_0520

After the triathlon we went to check out the house my parents were really hoping to buy.  (They did end up getting it, about 2 months later, and just recently moved in.)

100_0525

The have a sidekick (it looks like a life size micro-machine car) and we took it up the side of the hill up the street of their new house.  This face explains it all….just kidding.  Sadie actually really loved it.

100_0531

My brother Bruce and his wife Brittney are in the front seats, they came to visit for a few days while we were there.  Sadie still talks about how much she loves Madi, their daughter.  Her and Sadie are about 10 months apart.
