Dad and Vanessa

Warning this is just rambling...... I need to get this information out of my head and into words.  You don't have to read anything if you don't want to.

On January 20, 2012 My Dad went to the hospital with chest pain... he was having a small heart attack.  He was sent by ambulence with my mom following in her car to Provo for surgery.  He spend a few day in provo having surgery and waiting to see if things were working, finally it was decided to lifeflight him to SLC to a larger hospital that had more resources. After fighting for 11 long days his heart was too tired and worn out that it stopped, the drs. tried hard to save him.  But it was his time to rest.  On February 6, 2012 we met together as a family to pray, cry, laugh, and say goodbye to the most amazing dad anyone could ever have, he taught me everything.  The whole day was so spiritually draining and special that I will never forget how I felt.

I know that Heavenly Father organizes us into families for a reason.  I also know that my family will be forever.  I am so blessed and happy that my parents went to the Provo Temple to seal and bind our family together forever.  I am so grateful that Steven and I have sealed our tiny, little family together.  I don't think I could function if I knew I wouldn't get to spend eternity with Steven.  The Gospel of Jesus Christ is amazing and I know that it is true.

Dad, I miss you.

Lead, kindly, Light, amid th’encircling gloom;
Lead thou me on!
The night is dark and I am far from home;
Lead thou me on!
Keep thou my feet;
I do not ask to see
The distant scene- one step enough for me.
I was not ever thus, nor pray’d that thou Should lead me on.
I loved to choose and see my path; but now,
Lead thou me on!
I loved the garish day, and, spite of fears,
Pride ruled my will.
Remember not past years.
So long thy pow’r hath blest me, sure it still
Will lead me on
O’er moor and fen, o’er crag and torrent, till
The night is gone.
And with the morn those angel faces smile,
Which I have loved long since, and lost awhile!
“Lead, Kindly Light” Hymn #97
Thank you Heavenly Father for giving me a sunny day today.  The sun some how makes my heart not feel so heavy..... I love you Dad!

What I needed today...

I will not doubt,

I will not fear;

God’s love and strength are always near.
His promised gift helps me to find an inner strength and peace of mind.
I give the Father willingly my trust, my prayers, humility.
His Spirit guides; his love assures that fear departs when faith endures.
When Faith Endures
Hymn #128
This is just what I needed to hear today.....  God is GREAT!

Engagement Video

Oct 2006

We were young once, and we had the forethought to invite a friend with a video camera.

It should have been more cute. I had planned to ask her during General Conference in Salt Lake. But she worked that weekend. I though about planning something else, but she asked me out for ice cream on a Tuesday. I had the ring, and I was pretty sure she would still say yes.

I can't get over how beautiful Vanessa is and how squeaky I sound.

Theodore Roosevelt North Unit

Vanessa and I took a trip to a national park this weekend. This will make 2 weeks in a row I've been camping, I'll be gone next week as well.

We had lots of fun on our trip. Camped in the CCC area just out side of the park. It was nearly empty and 4 dollars cheaper.

This happy fellow was interrupted on it's Sunday walk by Vanessa and myself. So we took pictures of it.

Using a binocular as a zoom lens was a great idea. Check out the detail! The fuzzy sides make it seem like I used a filter in photoshop.

A far view of some hill in the park.

Same hill using our awesome binocular lens! I'm so smart using awesome technology and such.

Proof that Vanessa and I were there.

A field of wheat, ND does look really cool when you pass a farm.

That was how we spent the weekend. How was yours?

Happy Anniversary

Revelations....

So while I was playing with my 12 preschoolers today I had a revelation.  Actually it was more like a rememberence.  I grew up as a Girl Scout. infact I still am and will be forever.  One of the most profound things I learned in girl scouting was to "do a good turn daily".  I remembered that again today.... This is one of my new goals for the year.  I want to be good for something not selfish so why not try to improve the lives of others.  If you need anything thing please let me know!

Instant cold just add water

Because someone keeps clearing all the snow off the walk ways Vanessa and I decided to add a little of our own to replace it. Wow that was a strangely constructed sentence.

While I have you all here reading this and watching the video I should tell you all a secret. But I don't know any secrets so I guess I just sort of wasted a little bit of your time.

Leave a comment anyway. I would love to know why or how that trick works. I enjoy magic but I love understanding things.
