More books

Hey everyone, I'd like to get some book recommendations. I know Mary said something about "the Uglies" or something like that I should check out, and Ruth said something about the "hunger game" books I'll have to check out too. let me know if you have any other suggestions. I now own the first 6 books of Ranger's apprentice when you guys are up you can borrow those books from me and I own most of Fablehaven and Harry Potter and Princess Academy. There is another book from Brandon Sanderson I can't remember the name, but it is really good, based off a world where power is derived from colors. I love all of you so much, excited for Ruth's new baby and seeing my family from close and away.

Anyone reading?

Hey, I love the Fablehaven books, Brandson Sanderson's books, Shannon Hales books (I even got Rachel to read Princess Academy) I need to read the Hunger game books and what else, give me some good ideas. Preferably books with happy endings, adventure, Fan tansy, something to give me a little vacation somewhere else. We just finished listening to A Wrinkle in Time with the kids, it might have been a little old for them, but a classic, a good book to read again. Also, just so you know, I've been exercising at least 5-6 days a week for a month and a half and I've finally lost two pounds. So it might take me awhile to get anywhere but it's something. Also, I've been experimenting with substituting a protein shake for breakfast and I think that has helped too, and helps me not crave sugar and carbs as much.

Parenting

I don't mean to discourage Rachel and Stephen, but parenting is going to be one of the hardest things you will do. We're going crazy and want to put all of our kids in the loony bin as well as ourselves. How do we keep them from teasing and hurting each other, how do we teach them responsibility, to control their emotions, to tell the truth not only to others but to themselves. How do we teach them to be happy, responsible, thoughtful, kind adults that make good mature choices, keep friendships, and contribute to their world? I don't know. I think it would help if Gordon and I were perfect examples, but we aren't but we still have the responsibility to teach our children all the things they should do. Right now I feel discouraged and depressed about it all, just you all just wait, just wait. You'll know exactly what I mean.

Garden and Gun

Well, I never thought the two could be combined until I was waiting at my dental appointment on Monday and saw a magazine with just that name! Only in the South! I guess Joseph and I could work together after all:). And here is a great garden idea for down south...perhaps next year we'll try something a little more similar...and not leave for a month in between the hot, dry spells:). And here is one in California, former mission couple. Oh, the humid, temperate weather for plants!
