So today has been the day from Hades or H E double hockey sticks...which ever you prefer. But through it all, I know my Father in Heaven loves me. I know that he sent that police officer to turn down the back road 3 mins after I pulled off with a flat tire. I know that He will bless Alayne, for the many gifts of service she gave to me today. I know that He knew we were on a tight schedule for Lanie to get back to Kingwood and blessed us to get in and out of the tire store in 20 mins. Without Him, my day would have been worse. Without Lanie, my van would not be back in running order; without the Police Officer responding to another call, I would have been stuck there on the side of the road with 3 little ones for who knows how long. Without the awesome service of the guys at Discount Tire Lanie would not have made it back to Kingwood on time. I know there are a ton more tender mercies that I have received this day, and it's not over yet. But I would be a horrible daughter to not stop and recognize the many, many blessings I have received this day and to thank my Father in Heaven for those blessings.  My heart is so full, it's incredible. Thank you.

Walking update!

So I posted back in January I had a walker...well, that was completely accurate. Bekah in the last 3 weeks has really started walking. Before she would take steps, 2-3, and then sit down and crawl wherever she needed to go. FINALLY, she is walking on a regular basis and only 2 weeks before she turned 18 months. We knew she could do it, the dr. just said she was lazy. Well, if you could have everyone carry you around all day, would you walk on your own? We hit the 18 month mark on the 11th of this month. Nursery here we come!!! So excited to have the ability to attend church meetings and get something out of them. :)

Two days in a row...

Maddy has had this tooth(right side) that has been wiggling like crazy for weeks now but refuses to come out even with the grown up tooth coming in behind it. Then she tells me a few days ago that the other tooth(left side) is loose. Well, she comes home from school yesterday with a cute little purple treasure chest and smiles.... That was 2/6/12

Image
All evening long Adam and I keep telling her to wiggle that tooth! So today when I pick her up from school she looks at me and says, "Do you notice anything?" And this is the cute face that I look into....

ImageThat stinking tooth finally fell out. She has a cute pink treasure chest this time! I can't believe she's going to be 7 this Thursday. Where oh where is the time going?

P.S. I told her to sing all I want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth, but she wouldn't!

The First Sex Talk...

So, I found out that my sister is having a baby. And upon telling Maddy this she was confused. We've been telling her that once she is married she can have babies. Maddy knows that her aunt is not married and was wondering how she got pregnant. So I told her that in order to get pregnant you have to have sex. Yes, I tried to avert the conversation. We talked about choices and make wise ones and not so wise ones. But alas, my smart daughter's curiosity was not assuaged with these incomplete answers, or maybe I just figure she should know because I'm not about to lie to her about something she will figure out soon enough. Anyway, I digress. So yes I said the three letter "s" word to my daughter and she replies back to me, "I don't remember you sexing to have Bekah. I just remember you taking medicine." To which I had to stifle a laugh. But right now at this moment, I am laughing freely. :)

When I was preggo with Bekah, my girls remember me every morning bending over the sink. They also remember me taking my prenatal vitamin. Most of the time I would take my anti nausea med with my prenatal. They once asked why I was taking meds and I told them because I'm having a baby and this helps the baby to grow in mommy's tummy and the other makes mommy feel better. So from that they gathered I was taking medication to have a baby. I do remember Maddy one day after asking her if she want a brother or a sister, to which she said, "Brother, and if you don't have a boy you can take more medicine and get a girl."

And to Deanna, I thank you, for giving me this opportunity to talk to my daughter about sex, choices and how a baby comes to be.

Houston, we have a walker!

Bekah has been making some major headway with her walking! The other week she took three steps between Mike and Adam. Then yesterday at piano lessons she took another three steps from me to the couch! (Poor Maddy, she was playing for her teacher and we~her teacher and me~were paying more attention to Bekah. :)

Well, today after dinner Adam and I set up a walking course (aka sitting face to face with our legs stretched out and feet touching) and she totally walked back and forth. :) She's still really wobbly and prefers to crawl, but we know she can do it!

I need to get a picture of her and post it. Of course, I was too busy watching her in real life to grab my camera and record it!

I can't believe my little baby is a walker! What the heck, where did the time go?

Progress

I love my beautiful girls. I love all the things they can do. I love how smart they are.

Maddy is loving her piano lessons, and it shows! She is doing so well, I couldn't be more proud. I love listening to her play. Maddy has also gotten a 100 on every single one of her spelling tests. Such a smart girl!

Emmy is trying new foods and eating more of what is on her plate! She is also riding a big girl bike with training wheels. She seems terrified most of the time, but loves to ride. Emmy loves to play with her baby sister and Bekah returns the love. Anytime they are in a room together giggles are bound to be heard.

Bekah is growing by leaps and bounds. Bekah can now clap on demand, she does do it on her own, but it's so fun to say clappy clappy and she claps. Kisses and hugs are now doled out willy nilly. So sweet! Being outside is one of her new favorite places. If I leave the door open she will crawl out the door and down the sidewalk.

I love my babies.

Going on

I just wanted to post some of the things that Bekah is doing at 13 months...so I don't forget!

Bekah is my happy baby, as long as I'm holding her or in her sights. Look out if I'm not! She has this uncanny way of screaming one second and laughing the next while still looking like she's crying. It's too funny and I wish I could get a picture of it, it just happens so fast! She laughs really hard when I'm changing her diaper and push her legs out of the way...I don't know why, but she loves it. She loves when I hold her and spin around. She still has no desire to walk. She says nana, dada,
and baby. Her favorite thing to do is to put her head in between your legs while you are standing, kinda like she's in a house. She loves to play peek a boo and hide under blankets (like a tent). She has four teeth and is getting ready to get two more. She will wave bye bye but not say bye bye. She can also move her tongue from side to side while making noise. She is just too cute!
