The New Van!!

I can't believe we have had the van for more than a month now. How easy life has become with the van. It is a 2006 Saturn Relay and we bought it Aug 18. It has a self opening door on one side and a dvd player with many more fun things. I love the ease of getting Emmy into and out of the van. We couldn't be happier and are VERY excited to drive it to Pa for Christmas this year. Here are some pics!

Maddy's Garden

When we moved into our new apartment...pics coming soon (i promise) Maddy wanted to plant flowers on the balcony. I love planting things and watching them grow so I said yes. Shortly after we moved in we bought some flower boxes, dirt and seeds for Marigolds and Bachelor Buttons. Both Maddy and Emmy helped plant them and had fun getting dirty. Maddy helps water them and care for them. This was our adventure in May...

ImageThe supplies..Maddy was more excited about the water can than planting the seeds

This all took place on May 12th and then on May 16th we went out to water the plants and this is what we found!!

Then when Poppy came out to visit in July he got Maddy two tomato plants...that have yet to do anything...it may have been too late in the season. And a sister in my ward was giving away Plumeria "plants". I went to get my Plumeria "plant" and was surprised to find a tree. They are beautiful plants and give such beautiful flowers that smell so good. So Maddy's garden is well and flourishing. She finally got some Bachelor Button blooms the other day. I was afraid they weren't going to bloom at all. Maddy was very pleased they were purple blooms. Emmy loves to go out and smell and water the flowers everyday. It has brought such beauty to our home to have a balcony garden. Maddy is very pleased with the fruits of her labor!
