Going on

I just wanted to post some of the things that Bekah is doing at 13 months...so I don't forget!

Bekah is my happy baby, as long as I'm holding her or in her sights. Look out if I'm not! She has this uncanny way of screaming one second and laughing the next while still looking like she's crying. It's too funny and I wish I could get a picture of it, it just happens so fast! She laughs really hard when I'm changing her diaper and push her legs out of the way...I don't know why, but she loves it. She loves when I hold her and spin around. She still has no desire to walk. She says nana, dada,
and baby. Her favorite thing to do is to put her head in between your legs while you are standing, kinda like she's in a house. She loves to play peek a boo and hide under blankets (like a tent). She has four teeth and is getting ready to get two more. She will wave bye bye but not say bye bye. She can also move her tongue from side to side while making noise. She is just too cute!

Preparing for Christmas!

We are in full swing here preparing for Christmas! The tree is up, the stockings hung by the chimney with care...I love having a house to decorate that has a fireplace! :)

Maddy and Adam only have 4 more days of school left and then we are off for two weeks! I love Texas school vacations...everything in Texas is bigger! I'm finishing up my finals this week, so glad to have this semester over. Adam and I will be headed up to Dallas on Saturday, Dekaney made it to the state championship game! We are playing Cibolo Steele at Cowboy Stadium on Saturday at 8pm. We are so excited we've gone this far! Cibolo Steele is last years winner for the state championship, so it would mean A LOT for us to win. Even though the game is pushing our vacation departure back 3 days, we are really excited. This is a great opportunity for Adam and the school.
We leave Monday morning to go to Pa to visit Dad and Cindy and spend Christmas with Jason and Anya!! Good times! I'm looking forward to being back home for Christmas and the drive. I don't know what it is about road trips, but I love them.
We still don't have the majority of our shopping done. But then again, isn't that the fun of Christmas? Last minute preparations? Maddy is excited to be going to Pa for Christmas because it means snow....at least in her mind it does! I hope she is not disappointed, not to mention I would love to see some snow as well!
6 days and counting! woo hooo!

Hmmmm, a little behind are we?

So, yeah, school is kicking my butt. But such is life. I have a ton of pics to upload on to here...so maybe that will be what I do instead of boring you to death with what we've been up to. :) Nah, I'll do both.
August was the start of school for Adam, Maddy and I. Adam has been busy, busy, busy since he started. He's coaching football and is the video coordinator. He is doing an awesome job too, if I may add. The Dekaney Wildcats have gone on to the playoffs and we are still in football mode. They finished 2nd in district. We have one awesome team. I do however want the to lose this next game, but only for purely selfish reasons. I want my husband back. I love going to the games and seeing Adam down on the side line. He looks so cute and coach like. I love his accomplishments and his passion for the game. The games have been fun to attend, it's like being back in high school again, only with kids tagging along.
Maddy has been doing fantastic in her school work. She is the only student in her 1st grade class that gets to pick from the 4th grade books in the library. Yes, that's right, she's reading at a 4th grade level. My super smarty pants 6 year old! She has the most wonderful teacher who I think loves her to death! But we love her back so it's all good! Maddy does have an issue of talking too much, but that's my social butterfly, which she's been since birth! Maddy has also started piano lessons, and that is... eh. She's like her mommy and doesn't like to practice, get's frustrated when something isn't going right and instead of staying calm to figure it out, she bursts into tears and throws a fit. Just like her mom. yay. And even though she is just like her mom, does her mom understand? No, she gets impatient and makes matters worse. So, we are working on it. It's a work in progress. *sigh*
As for me and school, I signed up for 4 classes and quickly realized that my heart and body could not handle the stress. I dropped my math class that I also realized was one of those classes I would only EVER be able to take in a classroom setting. So I have continued with my Pych, History and English classes. I'm doing fairly well, but very behind in my History class that said I just had to have everything done by Dec. 5. It's going to be a mad dash to get everything done by that date. My heart has been doing much better, however, since dropping the math class. Less heart palpitations and panic attacks.
I always feel bad because I feel that I never have anything to say about Emily. She's not in school and she's not a baby that is developing rapidly. What can I say about Emily? She's my 3 year old that is growing up so fast. She literally thinks she is a princess and LOVES lip gloss, fingernail polish, having her toes done and dress ups. She is the girly girl of all girly girls. She is also a stick of a kid. I'm anxious to see how much she weighs at her appointment in a few weeks. The girl hardly eats. And just when I think I've found something she likes, she changes her mind and refuses to eat it. And by refuses, I mean she puts it in her mouth and gags until she pukes it, and everything else she may have eaten, up. Stubborn little thing.
Bekah just turned one!! Can you believe it? I can't. Where has the year gone? She is doing so much. She learned to hold up her pointer finger when someone said, "I'm one." but refused to do it on her birthday. (I have no idea where my kids get their stubborn streaks) We had a party for her and she loved the cupcake! She inhaled it so fast I gave her a second one....she had lots of fun demolishing her cake! She is not walking yet and I have only seen her stand by herself once for 10 seconds. She is in no hurry to start walking, which is fine by me. She is such a mommy's girl, I can't put her down for more than 10 seconds before she starts screaming....eventually she stops. :) I blame me for this behavior, she's my last one and I hold her a lot. But she is sweet and loving, cute, spunky and adorable. She's making lots of cute faces and trying to get her body to work the way she wants it to. She's currently trying to get her head to shake no, but nods it at the same time. Her whole upper body is involved in this. It's so funny to watch. She weighs only 18.2 lbs and is 28 inches long. She is my tiny, petite girl. She is below 50th in all areas of growth. Oh yeah and she busted her chin open the week before her birthday! Freaked me out really bad. Deanna and I now laugh at my unprofessional, crazy behavior. I took her to the ER and they glued it up and all is well. A cute little scar on her cute little chin.
I love my girls to death!!
We are all having fun in our new house and learning to spread out...almost a little too well. We look forward to Christmas and setting up our Christmas tree. We won't be here for Christmas, but we will have fun decorating anyway!

April, May, June and July in a nutshell

Hello!!

So here's what we've been up to lately. We finally closed on our house the 27th of April and had 2 days to pack and move all our stuff to our house. NOT fun. I was thinking I would have 2 months or at least 1 month to move....I had to call into work so I could clean my stupid apartment. If I'm going to call in, I should be on something better than cleaning!! But we are here in our house and LOVE it. My Dad and Cindy came to visit 3 weeks later and to bring us our dining room table and chairs, hutch and my hope chest. It all looks great...I know you probably want pics....but my house is still a disaster zone..so no. Dad and Cindy pretty much were here just for the weekend and we didn't do much but house stuff and visit Lowe's 3 times...Oh and go to church. :) LOVE Lowe's. The following week we had my mom and Calvin come to visit for Memorial day. Lots of family! Mom helped me unpack and hang things on my walls, not to mention plan where I might want other things hung on my walls. So that takes us from May into June.
I turned 31 in June, Bekah turned 7 months and gave me quite the scare. She had her 6 month appointment the month before and was still weighing in at 13 pounds, which is what she weighed at her 4 month appointment. They told me to bring her back in for a weight check at 7 months and she was still....13 pounds. Not an ounce different. So we cut out the baby food and fed her strictly formula (24cal) and got an appointment with the GI doc. Two weeks after her 7 month weigh in she gained 2 pounds. Four weeks later (which was last week) she was only up another pound. So right now she is a petite 16 pounds. They didn't find anything wrong with her, she just wasn't gaining weight...weird. She is happy as can be and active!! June also brought a first at our house! The tooth fairy came to visit! Maddy lost her first tooth. I can't believe she is old enough to be losing teeth.
That brings us to July. Adam turned the big 31 as well, and we had Rachel come to visit!! I loved having her here!! We played games, puzzles, watched movies until way late and ate way too much candy than we should have. I love having a sister that shares a sweet tooth as big as mine!! :) Love you Rach and thanks for coming. Our big 4th of July was a fizzle because the burn ban due to no rain for the last 3 months. We finally got some rain this week...every day for a little while. It's been nice to see our lawn greening up!
So far this month Bekah has become mobile...not by much, but much more than before!! She is scooting backwards. She will get on her hands and knees and rock back and forth like crazy. She has also mastered the art of going from sitting to laying and from sitting to being on all fours. Now if she could just get the hang of going forwards and not backwards. We have started her back on baby food and table food...she has another weight check in 3 weeks and I look forward to seeing some bigger numbers on that scale!!
Oh and one other big thing this month! I quit my job and am officially a stay at home mother, and a full time student. That still counts thought right? Stay at home mom, studying till all hours of the day and night? I must be crazy because I signed up for 4...yes count them 4 classes. General Psychology, college algebra, comp and rhet 2 (english), and US History something -1877. I have a feeling that I'm going to be writing lots of papers. blah. I'm excited though about not having to work and going back to school. Right now the plan is to finish my pre-reqs and start nursing school either next year or the following year depending on when I can finish them and get accepted into a program.
I realize I haven't put anything in here about Emmy. What can I say, she's my low key girl. Nothing major happening in her world right now. She is definitely enjoying having Maddy home for the summer. They are inseparable.
We are enjoying our laid back easy going summer. The school year is going to be CRAZY!!

I can't figure out how to switch these....but here's Bekah at 5 days and 18 weeks. So cute!

Little bug at 5 days!

Hello All!

5 months since my last post....hmmm. I'm sure you are all wondering and hanging in suspense about what we, as the Mealey's have been up to, right? Well, don't be. It's kinda same old, same old other than having a baby in those 5 months. Yep, Baby Bekah, or Rebekah Claire as she has been blessed and given a name as came to us on November 11, 2010. She was 7#'s 15 ozs and 18 inches long...no drama on this birth. FINALLY! We scheduled her for the 11th and that's when she came. She is now 4 months old and doing great! I have weekly photos posted on my Facebook that you can go look at (for some reason blogger is being stupid and I can't rearrange my photos after up loading them on here) it's just easier. Maybe I'll try to figure it out later. She is growing like a weed and loving life. She smiles and has even started to laugh in the last few weeks. She loves her big sisters and her bear mobile on her pack n' play. We have started cereal, applesauce and carrots. She's not quite sure how she feels about it yet...but we are warming up to it. :) She has also started rolling over and when on her belly she looks like she wants to start crawling, only not on her hands and knees. More on her toes and head... kinda funny. One day she'll get it...but I hope not too soon. I hate that she is getting so big. Time is going way to fast. She's my last baby and I want her to stay a baby as long as possible. Unfortunately when you are busy and having fun, life moves faster.

We are in the middle of buying a house and time is flying in that aspect as well. Bekah was 3 wks old when we started and now we see the finish line....sorta. We have found a house that we absolutely love. It's an older colonial, two story, brick home. It's 2,940 sq ft with 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, formal dinning and living (play/piano room and Adam's man cave respectfully) rooms. It has a pond in the back yard at the moment, but that will be removed shortly after we move in. There is a big back yard with a little play house already there for the the girls. A large detached 2 car garage. Lots of space for all our stuff, which I'm finding is more than I thought now that I'm packing it all up. We have lots of yardsale fodder. woo hoo!!

Other happenings in the last few months are Mike and Lanie had a baby as well, only one week to the day after we had Bekah. Aaron is so cute and a sweetie pie just like his cousin! We have lots of fun when we get them together!!

Adam found out that his school district (along with all the other school districts in the area) is going through a huge budget cut.. 4.5 million ( I think) for next year. They are getting rid of teachers since you know...they aren't important. We are hoping that Adam (being only his 2nd year as a certified teacher) doesn't make the cut.... He has alot going for him, but he still one of the newest teachers. He is the head golf coach and has been setting records and taking names. He is also helping coach baseball and works with the video crew for the football team. He also has the highest scores (well his kids do) for English on the TAKS tests. We will see what the future holds for him and his job. We are hoping for status quo, no raise, just status quo.

Over the new year we went to Indiana to see my Dad and Cindy get married. While we were there Jason blessed Bekah for us. It was so great to be able to see everyone, and I mean everyone. All the Moss kids with their wives/husbands and children were there. I can't remember the last time we were all together. Then in January I flew to St. George (thanks Dad and Cindy) to see Dan get married to Katie!! Most beautiful wedding ever!!! It was fantastic. I got to see family minus Nathan and Desiree and their family. It was good to see Mom and Calvin again. (Mom came down for 2 weeks when I had Bekah.) I loved seeing my family. I always love to see them and wish we lived closer. But it just makes it all the more sweet when we finally get together.
Congrats to Dad and Cindy and Dan and Katie!! Welcome to the family Cindy and Katie! We love you!

Other than that really, not much is going on. School and work are the same. I don't know what I was thinking trying to take a class right after having a baby. That's what I should be doing right now...studying. But I figured I haven't been on here since October....now's as good a time as any! Loves and hugs to you all!
