We had a funtastic Independence day! We went to see the hot air balloons in Provo (my first time.) It was pretty sweet! The kids played in the dirt mostly, but we all had lots of fun. Afterwards we grabbed some breakfast at Denny's and had the worst server in the world! Hooray! Later in the evening he had a BBQ and fireworks.

Now for the harrowing experience of going to Stewart Falls...dun dun dun dunnnnnnnn. DUN DUN!....dun.
Let's start this off with the Chiropractor. Annette and I went to a chiropractor who overheard us talking about how we wanted to "hike" around Bridal Veil Falls. By hike we really meant more of a "nice little walk." Obviously this was lost on this man. He informs us that the hike to Stewart Falls is really easy, and that little kids "should be just fine, it's almost completely level the entire way!" He should have been much more clear on which trail he was speaking of. We start off and immediately I'm thinking, wow this is pretty steep...maybe it levels off after this...and yes it did...and then it went down...and then up, and so on. Rocky steepness, lot's of tears from Liam who pooped out about 10 minutes in and lot's of people saying, on their way back, "Yeah, you're so close! Just around the corner!" Only to have the next group say, "You're maybe halfway...if that." Once you have a crying kid who won't walk, I swear it adds a mile. Anywho, by the time we get to the falls (2 miles btw), which of course were lovely, we here people talking about "another path." So we call Ryan's brother, David, and he tells us of an easier trail, and so on....so we take the trail, well the one we thought he was talking about and get going. It was really awesome at first. Not too steep, a little rocky, but pretty nice. That is until the rain started. Not a light rain, no, it sprinkled and then seconds later it was pouring. Huge drops that stung when they hit you and then oh....wait, what's this...oh it's HAILING now...of course it is. Meanwhile here we are with 3 little boys in tears completely unprepared for rain and we still have almost 2 miles to go. RIDICULOUS. Anyways, all of them are crying, Ally, Annette and I feel like crying, we're completely soaked. We start seeing signs telling us that we are headed to Sundance...which of course is not where we parked the car. Real hikers keep passing us merrily by and eventually a group of 4 stop and ask me if I'd like them to carry the kids the rest of the way. Mind you, by this time the tiny trail we are on is just nothing but mud, with a flippin' ravine on one side. I of course thought of carrying them, but I knew I would fall down, I'm not exactly athletic, or nimble. Anywho, I'm exhausted and I feel terrible for the kids so I agree, and this guys pick them up and pretty much jog the rest of the way to Sundance. Seriously...MIRACLE ANGEL PEOPLE. So yeah...that was our adventure!!!! Oh and we got a shuttle from Sundance back to our car...which was the kids favorite part.

We are still recovering from that craziness, but on another day we decided that in all this heat we really needed some water balloons. No real plans in mind, just...lots of water balloons. We played a target practice game and then we just threw them at the car and each other. It was pretty great!

Well that pretty much wraps it up...the other happenings was that I turned 27, what a great and terrible day. Mostly great though, I got a surprise date, delicious food, Spiderman, and a cute pedicure, so I was pretty happy to be such an old woman.
