Gotta Love Him

ImageReally? Almost a year? Yikes. Oh well....
I had to blog this cause I know I'll forget. Gannon said the funniest things this week.

Monday he comes home from school and says "I showed the girls my muscles today." *Big Breath* "They like me" HUGE SMILE.

This morning he says...well let me give some back ground.....we've been having problems with him coming in our bed EVERY night. I told him yesterday if he didn't be a big boy and stay in his bed then on friend day...no friends. Well, he was in our bed last night---again. He says to me "Mom, my brain said 'let's go in mom and dad's bed' and I said "NO!' but my brain just did it anyway". Dang brains!

Every year we take a trek to Vegas to watch McKenna vault in the Regional 1Competition. I had planned making a little get away for Jared and I since McKenna would be tied up at the arena most of the two days we would be there…..Jared had other plans……

Yep, we took the whole crazy brood….which meant basically we were trying to keep everyone else “UNBORED”. The kids liked Caesar's palace….even though I was dead set on not going down the strip….hmmm I lost that one too. Kennedy ended up puking her guts out in the parking lot of the hotel we were staying. When the security guard asked Jared if everything was ok he just said “Yeah, she’s just had a little to much to drink”…funny Jared. Ryelynn was convinced we were never going back home….so there was a lot of reassuring and explaining this was a VACATION…well, sort of. All in all it was fun. It’s always nice to get away. McKenna did pretty good too. She did get the highest score for the stand out of her division.

Jared next time let’s just go….ok :)

I had to admit I was…..*cough*…wrong. And the stinkers….had to take a picture.
I can’t even remember what I was wrong about….so it must not be true!

Halloween

Halloween was a blast as usual. Jared and I dressed up as “Candy Bandits”..Jared even went the extra mile and posted wanted signs of us all over the neighborhood and tried his hardest to steal candy from all the kids that passed by. No matter how hard I try I can’t ever get anyone to dress up scarry…I mean seriously isn’t that the point? Kenndy wanted to be a “cute Mad Hatter”---Cute? Ok, and as you can plainly see McKenna went for the pretty cowgirl, which left Ryelynn as the adorable mermaid and Gannon as Iron Man…we are in a full fledge Super Hero phase…..I had originally bought Revinn a elephant costume…Everyone and I mean EVERYONE vetoed that right away and we dug through the box and came up with the Batman…fellow Super Hero. He actually kept the costume on and he did look dang cute, yes much better than an elephant.

And then there was my neighbor…after a surprise attack on the bushes in her front yard by an anonymous bandit which thought they needed two less bushes…she decided to dress up like a bush bandit…It was hilarious!

Brothers

P1010169P1010170

I love watching these two together. Having had no sister—at all I realize the importance of having a sibling close to you that is your same gender. It also makes me feel a little sad for Gunnar, although he loves to wrestle with these two and the three of them get going pretty good. It’s fun to watch Revinn ‘tackle’ Gannon and I can’t help think that someday…soon….Gannon will have to fight a little harder to hold his own.

VICTORIOUS

After an AWESOME soccer season they pulled it off the ‘Burn’ took 1st place (well they tied for first) but they were none the less AWESOME. It was sheer joy to watch Kennedy play, I love watching my kids play sports…..and it doesn’t happen that often since Gunnar works now and McKenna is addicted to Vaulting and Kennedy to dance, but they both love soccer and I love watching….and yelling (they don’t like that part too much…at least they won’t admit it.)

McKenna had an AWESOME year too. Although I think they were robbed of their first place status. Her team lost one game and tied one game….I will admit I am not 100% sure that I understand the scoring system….but still ROBBERY!!

McKenna was fun to watch because she just didn’t take anything from anyone. I could often hear her being sarcastic (in a good way—is that possible) as she dribbled the ball down the field. I’ve tried to talk her into trying out for the High School team…we’ll see…..I need my sports!

One thing that was consistent was that people couldn’t get over how fast they were! Now only if they were fast at other things like getting ready for school, chores, eating, etc.
