Some SlaterRaider SOTU Analysis

This is the most offensive part of the speech for me:

In this new decade, it’s time the American people get a government that matches their decency.

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, GOP. Stop Digging

Conservatives, enough ripping on Obama for going to Copenhagen to try and get the Olympics in Chicago. Are you telling me that if you were president you wouldn’t also want the Olympics in your hometown?

“But he’s flying all over the world when we have stuff to take care of here!” Really? He doesn’t have a phone? This is the same nonsense the Left whipped out when Bush went to Crawford, complaining about his long vacations, as if he didn’t do any work when in Crawford. The President can do what he needs to do on the plane and in Copenhagen. And I thought we didn’t want the President with his hands on everything? Fly wherever you want to go, Mr. President. Stay a few extra weeks in Copenhagen, I hear it’s beautiful, especially this time of year. Which is it, GOP? Do you want him to do less, or do you want him here doing more? I say less. Enjoy Denmark.

But more than that, Conservatives, I’m on your team, let’s focus here. We don’t need to dig real deep to find things to criticize the President. I’m not looking to criticize the president, but it’s all pretty obvious. Healthcare, Cap and Trade, the list goes on, none of this is over yet. And we can oppose these policies for principled reasons. The more we focus on his Copenhagen trip, the dumber it makes us look, and the less credibility our more principled arguments are given. Make sense?

If we get the Olympics in Chicago, this will be the fourth thing I’m with the President. Add it to the list: shooting pirates in the head, picking North Carolina to win the tournament, and calling Kanye what he is. And killing flies.

THE SHAFT!

Wyoming, South Dakota and Tennessee get the shaft with this goofy high speed rail line which if it made any sense at all someone would build it with private money but why do that when we can just steal money from everyone else including people in Tennessee so the nuts in California can feel better that they’re helping the environment and in the process make the people of Tennessee less wealthy so we can spend less money on everything else creating a new wave of unseen victims of government command and control *BREATHE* and this just in we have solved EVERY OTHER problem in the world so it’s time we start a new giant public works program to put people back to work.

Check out this description of this “vision” and see if it makes you want to blow your brains out,

“Implementing HSR will promote economic expansion (including new manufacturing jobs), create new choices for travelers in addition to flying or driving, reduce national dependence on oil, and foster urban and rural livable communities.”

Clearly there will be NO negative aspects of building this rail line. NO unintended consequences that we should discuss at all. By the way, the Big Dig was supposed to cost $5 billion, it cost $30, and we give AMTRAK $1.3 billion in subsidies a year because no one rides trains, but no, nevermind, this is a great idea.

Oh, That Pesky Constitution and State Sovereignty

***UPDATE***

CLICK HERE to view the SlaterRaiders’ appearance on Cavuto. Thank you to everyone new to the movement for checking us out. Here is the original show from February 24th. The question was: Should Tennessee reject the stimulus money?

***

I’m really curious how many people read this line, “It’s a shame that my final argument is so casually dismissed, but if you dust off that old, pesky thing called the Constitution, you will see nothing in there about federal stimulus packages,” and say, “Psch, that’s a stupid argument.”

I want to thank the Jackson Sun for printing my editorial. They don’t have to print anything sent to them. We have the right to free speech in this country, but we do not have the right to have an editorial printed in our local paper, just as much as we don’t have a right to a microphone and a radio station or a right to a prime-time TV news show. But in the name of a fair and open dialogue, they will print all sides on the Opinion section. I thank them for that.

Check out the whole editorial here and let me (and them!) know what you think!

After Watching CNN…

did you change your mind?

8:00 hour:

7:30 segment:

Tell your story. It’s easy to run a sob story and try to pull the Guilt Card. But the real story is of the Forgotten Man. The people of West Tennessee who have had their hours reduced, their pay docked, their job cut. But STILL, somehow, these people manage to provide for their families, WITHOUT turning to the government for help. How is this possible? Who are these Forgotten Men? Who are these SlaterRaiders? We hear their stories every morning.

Feel free to tell part of your story in the comments section. How are you passing your own stimulus package? How are you bailing yourself out? How are you POSSIBLY able to get by without the government taking care of you?

SlaterRaiders On CNN

***UPDATE***

Does this CNN story change your mind? Click here to comment and hear the SlaterRaiders’ response.

Passion and Principles. Even if someone disagrees, that combination is impossible to ignore. Passion and mindless ranting is easy to ignore. Principles with no passion is what we’ve been guilty of for far too long and why we’re in this mess. If you have principles and no passion, it’s your fault that no one hears you. But principles with passion is unstoppable every time.

Congratulations to the SlaterRaiders! Your voice is being heard nationwide!

CLICK HERE to watch the CNN story. Here’s a screen shot. I wish they put Bill from Hornbeak’s picture instead. He probably wouldn’t have worn a pink tie. I’ve also read all of those books behind me. I brought along my personal collection.

Cramer goes Calm

I love Cramer. I don’t agree with him very often, but he nails it here. (The rant ends at about 6:00)

Marsha Blackburn Stood Up A Couple Of Times

I threw up a couple of times. Watching the SOTU on MSNBC is like swimming. You have to make sure you finish eating an hour before you start watching. Throughout the speech I was wondering how many times Ron Paul stood up to applaud. I’m thinking maybe 3. When President Obama talked about scaling down troop levels, when he thanked the private charity bank guy and the end. Because it was finally over. Marsha said she stood up a few times as well:
