Weight Check

I took Andi in for a weight check yesterday, and she has gained 6 ounces since her visit 2 weeks ago. She's now 16 lbs! She's in the 4th (almost 5th) percentile in weight so she is still small for her age, but we are working on it! The Dr. said her weight gain over the 2 week period was "Fabulous!" so we're happy with that! I'll keep you posted!

Pumpkin, A Really Messy Dinner, and A Bath in the Tub

We had a fun evening filled with firsts tonight. Andi tried pumpkin for the first time and loved it. She really likes orange foods for some reason. She was also enjoying a green favorite of hers at dinner-avocado-and I let her eat it with her fingers once she refused the spoon. So it turned out to be a REALLY messy dinner! I loved watching her eat the avocado with her fingers while her daddy cringed as she rubbed it all over her face and in her hair. Who would've thought that I would be okay with the mess and her daddy wouldn't be! She was so messy we decided the little bathtub just wouldn't cut it so we put her in the big bathtub for the first time. We thought it would be a quick bath, but once she got in the tub with the water, she loved it! She played with her ducky, the washcloth, and the cup we used to rinse her hair. It was a much more active bath time than we are used to, but it was so much fun! She's definitely a water baby! Here are a few pictures from the evening. Really look at the messy dinner ones! She's got avocado EVERYWHERE!

9 Month Checkup & More

We went over a week ago for Andi's 9 month checkup, and here's what they had to say...

The Dr. called her "perfect" which made me happy, BUT she's started falling on the weight curve. The Dr. said it could be because she has been "cruising" quite a bit and babies usually lose some weight once they start trying to walk. When we went for a weight check in April, she weighed 15 lbs. 15 oz. At this visit in May, she weighed 15 lbs. 10 oz. The Dr. is not overly concerned about her weight, but she wants to get her headed in the right direction which is gaining weight. She is now 28 in. long as compared to 25 3/4 in. at her 6 month checkup, and her head had grown too which is good. So, she is growing, but her weight just isn't climbing at the moment. We are working on her eating habits. She's always been a good eater, but she's able to eat new things now, beginning to eat more at her meals, and also having snacks now. It's fun to watch her try new foods. Today she tried YoBaby yogurt for the first time. The Dr. recommended adding it as a snack to add some calories and a little more fat to her diet. Here are a few pictures of her trying that today.ImageImageAnd here are a few pictures of her in her polka dot dress yesterday. I just love this dress on her!ImageImageShe still hasn't cut her other front tooth so her little snaggle tooth smile is still in tact as of now. We expect her other tooth to cut any day now though so we're enjoying that funny smile while it's here!

More new things!

Andi's two top teeth have been showing under the gums for weeks now. One of them finally cut through a week or so ago. Here are a couple of pictures of her snaggle tooth smile. It's cuter when you can see her two bottom teeth and the top tooth too, but we couldn't get a picture of that this time. Hopefully that other top tooth will cut soon! (Sorry for the funny face! She wouldn't smile big enough to show off the tooth!)ImageImageShe also stood all by herself Monday night for a few seconds! We couldn't believe it! We were both there to see it too! And today, she's learned to knock down a stack of blocks. She loves it! I build them up, and she knocks them down everytime! So much new and fun stuff going on these days!

This picture is from Saturday night while I was gone to a concert. She and Cody were having dinner together, and when he looked over this is what he saw! So sweet! We had just returned from our trip to Bentonville that day so she was worn out! Image

Our visit to Bentonville

We made a very quick visit to Bentonville this past week. Andi enjoyed her time on the farm with Grammy, Grumpy, and Grand Bea. ImageWearing her cowgirl shirt since she's on the farm!ImageShe also enjoyed her time in Bella Vista with Mimi, Pappy, and Gran Gran although I don't have any pictures of them unfortunately.

She learned 2 new skills while at Grammy's: climbing stairs (luckily there were only 2 to climb) and opening cabinet doors. ImageShe's so proud of her new accomplishment! ImageShe loved being outside Imageand got to swing in her swing for the first time. ImageImageShe loved it all! She even got to visit our old house in Bella Vista where we lived all 9 months that I was pregnant with her. It was neat to see her in that house and it made me a little sad too since we still love that house so much. ImageImageGrammy and Grumpy's 2 new colts. Happy Mother's Day!

Cody and Andi definitely made sure that my 1st Mother's Day was wonderful! Cody drove home early this morning from the trout fishing trip to be with me on Mother's Day. He arrived with flowers, a sweet card, and a beautiful Precious Moments figurine. I received a sweet card from Andi too with her handprint stamped on the inside. (Thanks Cody! That was sweet of you!) I also received several cards from other family members and a few unexpected but much appreciated gifts too! We had a delicious lunch together and are enjoying our afternoon as a family. This is a Mother's Day that I'll always remember!

Happy 9 Month Birthday!!!

I really can't believe Andi is 9 months old today! It's flying by! She's so active these days that she's flying by me too! :) This past month has been a busy one for her! She's tried many new solid foods including pasta, bread, and chunks of banana, avocado, sweet potato, etc. She learned to drink from her sippy cup instead of just chewing on it and letting the water spill out of her mouth. :) She's pulling up and crawling like a pro! (Since those happened just before her 8 month birthday!) She's also been cruising around the furniture for a couple of weeks now. She has 2 top teeth that have been showing under the gums for about 2 weeks and should emerge any day now! That will really change her looks! She's paying attention to the books we read her at night, paying attention to other kids in public places, and giving tons of slobbery, but sweet, kisses. I swear she tried to say the word "dog" tonight, and then a few minutes later said "ruff". I promise she did! :) She's doing so much more that I can't even think of right now too! Everywhere we go, we hear "What a beautiful baby!", "She's so little!", "What a happy baby!", and "Look at those blue eyes!" If you can't tell, we are very proud! :) We go for her 9 month check up Tuesday so I'll have the stats to share then. I'm anxious to see where she falls on the growth chart because we're beginning to wonder if she is small for her age. But hey, look at her mama! :) More to come after her appt. on Tuesday! Happy 9 Month Birthday Andi!

A few pics of her today. We had a "cherry" theme for today without meaning to!ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageI couldn't get this picture to turn when I loaded it. It was too cute not to share though. Image

A Little Short But Still Cute!

I bought this dress for Andi at Wal-Mart on sale for $3! It came with matching panties too! It's a 3-6 month size (they didn't have a bigger size) which she is still fitting into even though she'll be 9 months old tomorrow! It's a little short on her, but it's still cute, and it was very cool on this hot May day in Central Arkansas! It's the perfect length for her to crawl around in too as it doesn't get in the way like her other dresses do. It was so cute on her I just had to share!
ImageShe wasn't happy about standing up for me!ImageShe crawled over to me while I was taking her picture. She loves to try to get the camera. Not sure why she's making this funny face! :)Image

Cute Pictures from Today

I just love this little outfit she's wearing today, and she was so clean and cute after her bath that I had to take some pictures! Enjoy!ImageImageImageShe was also pulling-up on Gracie which was too funny! Gracie didn't seem to mind at all, and Andi actually made it to standing the first try!Image
