Elizabeth is ONE

I can't believe how fast time goes. I haven't updated my blog forever! I wanted to make a fresh start and blog about Elizabeth. Elizabeth was born October 11th, 2010 at 7:26 pm. She was 8 lbs. 4 oz. and she was 19.5 inches long. She was such an easy baby. She got onto schedules fast. Now that she's one, I definitely can't say easy anymore, but she is such a joy and I love her "needy" personality. She still isn't walking, which is fine with me. She was sitting up at 4 and a half months and she was crawling around 8 months as well. She goes down the stairs great! She just doesn't have any interest in walking yet. She loves books! My favorite thing she does is she'll bring a book and put it up on your lap and then she'll reach up to you for you to pick her up. She LOVES books. We have also discovered that she loves Pandas! It's so cute. She says, "ana" when she sees one. She has a bath toy panda and a book with a panda in it. I guess Santa will have to get her a Panda toy for Christmas this year. She says momma and dada and up when she wants you to pick her up, which is all of the time. She sleeps 12 hours every night from 830 to 830 and she has 1 nap a day which is 2-3 hours long. She is such a sweetheart and she definitely speaks her mind, especially when her brother decides he doesn't want to share or takes a toy away. We love her sweet personality and we love having her as apart of this family.

Pretty Disgusting

So Carson went through a phase that I totally never expected. He did really well with potty training and I am proud to say that we had him trained back in March. While we were gone to Goblin Valley, there weren't any bathrooms around, so Dave had him go behind a rock. Ever since April 27, we have been fighting him to actually go in the potty. The last 2 weeks he's gone back to going in the potty and we are relieved. We had to start punishing him and take away a toy that he peed in or taking a toy away just for peeing somewhere. Here are a few of the things he peed it.

- He took out the batteries from one of our remotes and peed where the batteries go.
- Under the middle couch cushion countless times. Good thing we're getting rid of it!
- In one of our cordless phone chargers that the phone sits into.
- In a box. Luckily it was empty but it did leak onto some of his toys
- On top of a paint can
- In a bucket
- Random places on the carpet
- One of his race tracks for his cars
- On the ladder outside
- In a hole that we have between our garage and driveway

Sadly, I know there are more, but I am grateful I don't remember them all! Sorry it's kind of disgusting, but I just had to share it with you. Boys will be boys. I am grateful for mine. Now bring on the Rug Doctor!

Here's me freezing to death!

Here's Carson helping pitch the tent. What a good helper!
Over Memorial Day weekend, the family packed up and headed to Crystal Hot Springs. It's about 10 minutes north of Brigham City. We had a lot of fun. I bought Dave the new Coleman Instatent for his birthday and we wanted to put it to good use. The tent sets up in one minute. It's way easy to take down too. There are hot and cold springs and I made sure that I wasn't in anything too hot or in for too long. Carson had a blast. I didn't take many pictures by the pool because they discouraged cameras and video cameras. There was a sign that said if you were using your recording devices suspiously, you'd be prosecuted....

Shrek 4

So the company we financed through for our mortgage, treated quite a few of us to see Shrek 4 at the Gateway. It was really fun. We made a day out of it. We went to lunch at Little Dave's Deli because Andy, Kal and Dave have been there quite a few times and Dave has always wanted to take me there. It was really good. Carson fell asleep on the car ride downtown, but eventually came back to life and ate a couple of bites of food. Then we went to see Shrek 4. Carson really liked it. It was only about an hour and 20 minutes long. Carson did good three fourths of the way through and then couldn't sit still. Luckily our whole row was us and our friend's Eric and Danielle and their kids so they didn't mind him walking back a forth, or did they? :)  They raffled off prizes and gave all the kids treat bags. It was a very fun day!

Annual Goblin Valley Trip

Image
ImageEvery year around Easter time, the Park family packs up and drives 3 hours to Goblin Valley, hangs out for a couple of hours and packs up and drives home for 3 hours. It's a long car ride for one day. So this year Dave and I decided to spend a night at the Ramada in Green River to make it more of a trip. They had an indoor pool that was too cold to swim in and the hot tub was cool enough to be a warm swimming pool, so we hung out in there for a while. Carson had a lot of fun. He kept calling the hotel room "Grandma's Room". Don't ask me why, but it was funny. The bed was a King, but that didn't stop Carson from doing 360's in his sleep. And for some reason there was plastic wrap under the sheets, so every time you'd move it sounded like crumpling a piece of paper...okay, they didn't have plastic wrap, but they had something that made you not even move in fear it would wake everyone up. We got to Goblin Valley and had lunch and headed down and played on the rocks. Nana and Papa did an Easter egg hunt and the kids had so much fun!

Leftovers!

Image
Here are the leftovers I cleaned out of my fridge today. I was so proud about my stacking skills that I had to take advantage of the moment and blog about it. Dave and I are horrible at eating leftovers. We'd save a lot of money if we would.

Happy Birthday Dave!

Image
I just wanted to wish my wonderful husband a happy birthday. I can't believe he's 32! He's old...just kidding. I always tell him I married an old man. He's been an awesome husband and a great dad! Happy Birthday Dave!

Happy Easter

Image
Image

ImageWe just wanted to wish everyone a happy Easter! Carson had so much fun looking for all his Easter eggs in the living room. He's so stinking cute! He got a trike as well. He's a little too short for it, so the Easter Bunny has some explaining to do. :)

Miche Bags

Image Hey Everyone! I just wanted to let you all know that my mom started selling Miche Bags a little while ago, and I just added her link to my website so that you can check out all about the product and the new releases. It's called Barb's Miche Madness and the blogspot is http://www.michecrazy.blogspot.com/. I love helping my mom out! I have been to a couple of her parties and I love meeting new people. I also love seeing their reaction about how awesome and cute these bags are. My mom sells them cheaper than what you can get on their website and the kiosk for them in Fashion Place Mall just closed, so if you want a bag or want additions to your bag, then give my mom a call. She is really good at what she does and she will totally help you out, deliver, etc. I hope you all enjoy Miche just as much as my mom and I do! Here are the new April/Spring Releases!

Funny Things

Lately I have been trying to think of some funny things that Carson will say to me randomly or during a conversation. Here are a few things. I feel bad because I wish I would've started to do this a lot sooner. He makes me laugh all of the time. He is definitely his daddy's boy when it comes to random, silly things.

"Ah, this is the life"
"Dad, you said a bad word. Go to time out."
"Are you serious?"
"Swanswinch" (he means to say sandwich)
"Orangens" for Oranges
"Chwistine.....slow down!"
"Yay! Good drivin' Dad!"
"Dad, are you a good peer? (going to the bathroom)" and Dave said, "Am I a good what?" And Carson said, "No, but mom is!"
"Oh snap!"
"Unbewibable" (Unbelieveable)
"Box Elder bugs are mean, they are scary, they are yucky. They eat spiders, remember mom?"
"Mom, watch car cwrashes on youtube."
"That wasn't supposed to happen."

Potty Trained

I am proud to say that Dave and I no longer have to pay for diapers! Well, now it's on the the underwear and the pull-ups, but it still is saving us money...until the next one comes along. We started potty training Carson around the beginning of February and he is going, going, going. He has an occasional accident or if he feels like peeing down the stairs, he'll do so, but for the most part he goes in the potty.

I would love to thank Hot Wheels for their invention of toy cars which helped motivate Carson to go in the potty. Oh, and Skittles.

Holy Cow! It's About Time!

We finally got the internet! It feels like Christmas to me right now! Ever since Dave and I bought a house, we've been so money conscious that every time I complained about not having the internet, Dave said, "you can get it, if you make the call." I didn't want the expense and not only that, I hate calling and getting things set up. I don't know why. I know I am a shy person, but if something bothers me enough, I'll say something or call someone. I work too dang it, so I am getting the internet. It makes me happy! I haven't been able to blog and we are going to save money considering Dave would always tell me he'd pay our bills at work and we'd get late fees because he forgot or got too busy. So, in a way, I think we are saving money or at least paying the same. (He knows I'm kidding)

Yay! Hopefully you all haven't forgotten about me because I  am back baby!

Valentine's Day

Image
So for this Valentine's Day, I told Dave that we just needed to get each other some cards because we want to get carpet here pretty soon. I have slowed down at Jordan Valley a little bit so I can be home more for Carson and especially to help my mom out. So I got him a card and a treat. The freaking stinker got me the comforter set I saw that matched my wall perfectly! I got a new bedspread about or 4 Christmases ago and I tried to match my back wall with it, but I failed miserably. I wanted it darker than the bedspread and it was, it was just the wrong shade. Carson got me a bunch of lotions, body spray and bubble bath from Bath and Body Works. That kid spoils me. He's like his Dad for sure. Happy Valentine's Day!

Long Time No Post

Image Mom and Carson at Trunk Or Treat. Luckily I got to have some Halloween fun before the Swine Flu hit! Oh, and black hair spray was a BAD idea! What a mess.

Image Here is Carson at the zoo riding the train. This is his favorite part of the whole zoo. He even likes the train more than the carousel.

Image Here is mom and Carson carving pumpkins on Halloween. That was one of the last
days I was sick. I still didn't feel too good in this picture.

I feel so bad that I haven't posted anything for such a long time. No one probably even looks at my blog anymore, but I still want to post. We don't have the internet, but hopefully we get the internet soon though.

Just a recap of everything since the summer. We got a zoo pass and Carson and I go up there quite a bit, or at least try to. He loves seeing the animals and he loves any animal cage with water. We should've bought season tickets to a water park instead.

Carson is talking more and more each day and can say short sentences now. He's so fun and says random things. His obsession right now is to play games...so we will play Wii Sports like bowling or baseball. I stand behind him and he pretends to throw it and I am the one actually controlling everything behind him. Hey, he thinks he's doing great! He loves board games and any type of game he can find. We finally packed them all in boxes because he is starting to lose the pieces. I know, we're mean parents, but he'll love them in about 1-3 years. Carson turned two Aug. 11 and he is such a fun, happy little boy.
The house is going a long pretty well. Things are actually getting hung up on the walls and it is starting to feel like home more and more each day. ANYONE is welcome to call and ask to come see the house if they want to. Dave and I love hanging out with people and are willing to have people come look any time they want to. We still have TONS of work on the house, but that is what you get when you purchase a short sale home.

Carson was a vampire for Halloween. He loved getting all of the candy. I on the other hand had the swine flu over Halloween and I am happy to report that I lived! Luckily Dave and Carson didn't get it. I was isolated for 5 days in my bedroom, so I tried not to go around the house very much so I wouldn't spread the germs.

My sister in law Angela is pregnant with their 6th baby. It's a boy. They now have 3 girls and the 3rd boy is on the way. My brother's wife was pregnant, but she also miscarried like I did. Dave and I are going to try again soon. I could've been trying already, but we wanted to wait a couple of months to get more things done with the house.

My mom started selling Miche Bags. My sister or I will go and help her with parties. If you are ever interested in a bag for you or a gift for someone else, let me know and I'll give you my mom's contact info.

My work schedule is going to be changing soon. I now work Mondays and Tuesdays and then take Tuesday and Friday night call from 11p-7a and then I am on call one Sat. or Sun. a month. I may just go to Mondays and then take my call on Tues. night and eliminate Friday as well. Or I may just start taking nights. I would be a late person. If they needed me at 5 until a room would finish, they would call me in at 3 pm and then I would only work from 5 pm until that room was finished. I am sad to say that my 97 year old Grandpa died this past October and we all miss him very much.

Dave is still at Usana and has an office now. He works hard and cares for the company and the people he works with.

Other than that, Dave and I just celebrated our 5 year anniversary and we are just scrambling to get going on Christmas shopping and decorating for the holidays.
