A Royal Tea

Today was the annual Ladies Tea event at church. For the past few years I have decorated a table to go along with the theme they select. This year it was a "Royal Tea". I immediately thought of "Royalty" and decided to go with a British theme using the British flag and red, white, and blue accents. The table turned out nice. Laura, Kari, Laci, Erin, Mandy, and Lauren sat at my table and we all wore hats, just as they would in England!

Slumber Party

Mary Kate and Marlee had a slumber party last night! Jared and I went to see the play, Wicked, in Fort Myers so Laci and Marlee came to take care of Mary Kate (Brooker went to the lake with Papa). Laci loaded the girls up and took them to visit Nene and Pepa. I have no doubt it made their night! Nene gave the girls ring pops and they were occupied the whole time. On the way home she bought them a french fry snack. They played hard at home, took a fun bath, read lots of books, and finally crashed for the night. Thank you so so so much Aunt Laci!

Tot Time

Today was Mary Kate's first time going to "Tot Time" at the Children's Museum. Amy teaches the class and does such a great job. Mary Kate was just in awe the whole time and loved all the singing and dancing. Her favorites were swaying the scarves to "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and shaking the maracas. Amy read Eric Carle's, "The Very Busy Spider" and afterwards the kids made little spider web crafts. Mary Kate tore her's up before we even got out of the room though. Ha! Can't wait to bring her back next week and start our little weekly "Tot Time" routine.

Our boy got married today!

Today was a very special day at Brooker's preschool...The letters "Q" and the "U" got married! Brooker had was a "U" and actually got to marry two "Q's". He took his role very seriously as he walked his letters down the aisle and stood at the front of the church. Pastor David did a ceremony where the two letters vowed to stay together always. He then told them, "You may now hug your letter." Brooker's two girls, Anastasia and Rachel both hugged him and he just stood there. It was so funny! After the ceremony we went to the fellowship hall for wedding cake and milk along with dancing. You should have seen this boy cutting a rug!

Visit to the Dentist

Brooker had his 2nd visit to the dentist today! I took him to South Florida Community College's Dental Education Center. They do a fabulous job! It's students that are studying to become dental hygienists who do the actual work and cleaning on the teeth while being supervised by a dentist on site. Megan, a first year student, did a great job with Brooker and he LOVED it! I am so happy Brooker does not have a fear of going to the dentist and is learning good dental hygiene at a young age :)

Long Day with Mommy

Today Mary Kate and I headed out of town to go shopping for some cute Easter material! Unfortunately, there isn't much of a selection for material in Highlands County. We ended up in Lakeland and found exactly what I was looking for. I was also able to pick up a few clothing items for myself AND make a Target run. This little girl was PERFECT through it all! Obviously I wore her out and this is how she rode the whole way home...nice!

Cheap Labor

After a long day at the races, we came home and did some outdoor work. We even enlisted the kids help and they did a really good job. Brooker took his job of collecting the leaves in his wheelbarrow very seriously, and Mary Kate just copied what she saw us doing with the rake. It's great having a couple extra sets of hands around. Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!

12 Hours of Sebring

This evening we joined lots of friends for some fun out at the race track! This is something we have enjoyed doing for the last couple of years. The set-up is so family friendly and the food is delish. This year they even had a little bounce house set up and that provided hours of fun for the little ones. Like last year, they brought in a band to provide a little entertainment. Once again, Brooker got up on stage and sang a little number for all of us...He did amazing! The older he gets, the more shy and bashful he is in certain situations so I couldn't believe he got up on stage with a microphone in front of all those people! I love my little singin' man. We gotta work on a new song for next year though :) We stayed out well past the little one's bedtime and they both sacked out on the way home...evidence of a great time!

Living on Island Time

With Brooker and Mammy being on Spring Break this week, we decided that a visit to the Island was in store! Mammy, Brooker, Mary Kate, Nolan, Laci, Marlee, Easton, Judy, and I headed down on Saturday. Aunt Mollie picked us up at the marina. The boys were sooooo excited to be heading to the beach. Mary Kate and Marlee had no idea the fun that was to be had! We spent tons of time at the beach. It took Mary Kate a few days to warm up to the sand but once she realized it wasn't so bad, she was up and down the beach, in the water, and acting like a true island girl. Brooker didn't let the cold water stop him from swimming, boogie boarding, sharks tooth collecting, sand castle building, and much more. He even caught a couple of fish while we were there. Daddy was able to come down for a few days too. It was a great week with perfect weather....NOTHING beats living on Island Time!
