The Lion King

Mammy took Brooker to see the Broadway production of The Lion King today! When I heard this play was going to be in Orlando I just knew our boy HAD to go! Aunt Mary kindly gave mom her two season tickets for the show. Mammy said that Brooker did very well and loved the play so much. He told me, "That was the best play ever! The hyenas ran right beside me!" Afterwards he got a stuffed Simba as a souvenir and Mammy took him to get ice cream at Celebration. I'd say our boy had a wonderful Birthday Week!

Mary Kate tried put on the lion mask in Petco in honor of Brooker being at the Lion King play! Jared and I spent the day with our girl down in Fort Myers.

Amy & Travis' Wedding!

It was a long anticipated wedding that turned out absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Amy was a stunning bride and didn't miss a detail for her special day. Brooker did very well as the ring bearer! Due to a weather scare, Amy and Travis ended up getting married on Friday night in front of just family and the wedding party. Then on Saturday they had another wedding at New Hope church and a gorgeous reception at the Burnett's watermelon barn. Even though the plans had to be altered a bit, it still turned out to be a gorgeous event!

MK spent the day with Mar Mar!

While we were playing at Animal Kingdom with Brooker, Mary Kate went to Mar Mar's to play! Laci sent pics of the girls throughout the day and we knew Mary Kate was having so much fun! Thank you Aunt Laci for taking care of and loving our girl!

Happy 5th Birthday Brooker!!

Today couldn't have been more perfect! Jared and I took our sweet 5 year old to Disney's Animal Kingdom. He loved every minute of being in this animal lovers dream world! We started on the safari and saw so many animals very up close and personal. Brooker's most memorable part of the ride was seeing the Cheetah...his favorite animal! The rest of the day was spent seeing different shows like Nemo, Lion King, and Bug's Life, exploring Dinosaur land and even winning a stuffed Chameleon at one of the carnival games, meeting Rafiki, riding a Dinosaur ride that made him feel "seasick", going on an animal scavenger hunt, and much much more. We ended the day at Chili's and surprised Brooker by having the waiters and waitresses sing him Happy Birthday and give him a delicious dessert. He LOVED that part! I truly enjoyed this one-on-one time with Brooker and we made very lasting memories today. It's so hard to believe Brooker is now 5 years old. He is such an amazing boy and brings so much joy to my life and the lives of so many others. He's funny, caring, creative, smart, witty, adventurous, imaginative, and so much more! Happy Birthday B-Man...we LOVE you!

 

Lowes Build & Grow Workshop

This past weekend Jared took Brooker to the Build and Grow workshop at Lowes. He was such a good daddy to take pictures of our boy in action! Brooker was so excited to show me what he made when he got home :)

School Party!

Today we celebrated Brooker's 5th Birthday at school with his school friends and Mrs. Dawn! I decided to go with something different than cupcakes and bought birthday cake flavored ice cream sandwiches. Most of the kids thought they were great. One said however, "I don't like this...I really just want a cupcake." I had to laugh! The birthday boy liked it and that's all that matters :) Mrs. Dawn said a very special prayer over Brooker (see video) and the kids sang him the Happy Birthday song complete with several "Cha Cha Cha's". Even Mary Kate got in on the action too!
