Mom's Night at Grateful Hearts

I had such a fun girl's night out at Grateful Hearts and finally got to make a project that's been on my to-do list for quite awhile! Karen and Krystal helped my project come to life.

Grateful Hearts Art Camp

Since Mary Kate didn't get to finish the art camp she started earlier this summer due to her being sick and us going on vacation, Mrs. Karen and Mrs. Krystal invited her back to finish out her week at a camp they held later in the summer. She had so much fun and I loved all the projects she made! Grateful Hearts is a great place for the young and old :)

Weekend in Asheville, NC

The weekend is finally here...the one we've been anticipating for almost a year...We dropped Brooker off 4 states away for summer camp for 2 WEEKS! He's been so excited about this new adventure that awaits him. We got to Asheville, NC on a very early flight Saturday morning. After a yummy breakfast downtown we met up with the Barben families for a day on the river! We floated for hours along the French Broad River. The boys had an absolute blast and the adults (and Kinsloe) enjoyed ourselves thoroughly...between John, Billy, and Jared, we had some good laughs!

It was too early for this boy!

After our time on the river we were hungry so we headed downtown to eat and explore. Brooker especially loved all the street performers.

Image
One of the restaurants we stopped in for a snack had lots of different board games you could play while you took a load off your feet. We had a mean card game going!

Image
Love this boy and I'm sure going to miss him!!

On Sunday morning we woke up bright and early and took Brooker to eat a good breakfast before making our way to Camp Rockmont in Black Mountain, NC.

What a beautiful drive to camp!

We're here! Look at his anticipation!

He was greeted by so many of the staff/counselors and made to feel welcome right away.

Doesn't that look like fun?!

His cabin

Once we got in his room we got busy making it as comfortable and functional as we could. I got him unpacked and everything arranged on the shelves that were assigned to him. We made his bed and met some of the other campers in his cabin.

He's ready!

After getting him all fixed up in his cabin we headed to the camp store to pick up a few more necessities and then explored the camp some. He couldn't wait to get in the lake so he enjoyed himself on some of the lake toys.

So glad he gets to have this camp experience with his cousins...they are going to have such a blast!

Image

Image
Time to say our goodbyes. He was actually really ready for us to leave to he could take off and do anything and everything he wanted!

Image

Image
Jared and I both felt a little sadness when we left him but it was overshadowed by the great feeling that he was in good hands and since he wasn't sad at all it made the good-byes so much easier!

Once we got our campers dropped off, Billy, Nicole, Jared, and I went to the Sierra Nevada Brewery in Asheville. It was an AMAZING place! We had a delicious lunch and sampled some different types of beer. We toured the facility and saw how the brewery worked. When we were done eating we headed outside to view the gardens and listen to live music. This place is so neat and we will definitely be back!
