Vagabond #3

Longtime readers of the blog will remember that Seth has been known to fall asleep in strange places and in weird positions. Refer to the previous blogs entitled Vagabond #1 and Vagabond #2. I've been saving a few pics for over a year so I could do a vagabond #3 post, but he seemed to be growing out of it.  Here are some shots from last year:

 How is this even possible?

He hadn't done any sleep-hiding in a while--until just recently. I think it's like a game to him now; like hide-and-sleep. He hides somewhere and goes to sleep so we freak out while trying to find him.

We found him in the middle of the night in the office (i.e. not his room) under this chair in the corner. The lights were not on.

This time we found him in the middle of the night in the office closet. The lights were of course out and the closet door was shut. Crazy kid.

Discovery Park

We recently discovered Discovery Park, a natural area park within the city that overlooks Puget Sound with views of both the Cascade and Olympic Mountain ranges. It is huge, with lots of hikes where you go from being in the middle of a forest to meadows to sea cliffs and tidal beaches. I brought my camera and got some shots of the kids,

which is really hard. I don't know how child photographers do it.

The one below is my favorite. Not sure why.

Ada spent most of the time making a "beaver dam", which consisted of gathering driftwood into piles.

As you can see, Lindsay was very helpful.

Picnic.

The majesty of Mt. Ranier in the distance has nothing on the kids' beaver dam.

They were amazed with the intracacy of this "beaver dam":

Pretty cute kids if I do say so myself:

There is a lighthouse with beautiful views of the Sound. Wish these kayaks were mine.

Seth enjoying the beauty.

I brought my camera, but left my tripod in the car for the hike to the beach, which I kicked myself for. I couldn't get any tack sharp shots, but got a few solid ones. It's a pretty place.
