Bay-cation

For vacation time this summer we spent a week in the Bay Area, our first significant time back to the land of our forefathers since moving to Seattle. We had fun.

We drove which is not fun, but we did stop in Southern Oregon on the way, which was fun.

Beloved cousins and a pool to swim in was right up Seth and Ada's alley.

We went to Point Lobos in Carmel, CA with the Rutmans.

I had forgotten how gorgeous it is there.

I always loved the tide pools as a kid, and so did our kids.

We went to a ballgame with with some family. It was a huge highlight of the trip for Seth and all of us who enjoyed witnessing Seth's enthusiasm. He could hardly believe he was really at AT&T Park. Aaron showed him around the wall of fame and the statues and he was jumping up and down all giddy while walking into the park.

Although it got a little chilly at the park, Seth kept taking his coat off so everyone could see his Buster Posey shirt. He got up and danced with great zeal and silliness every time there was music because he was hoping to catch some cameraman attention and get onto the big screen. The seats a few rows from the top don't get much screen time.

We ended the trip with a very fun day at the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk with the Rutmans.

Ada and her cousin Kallista haven't spent much time together, but they were instant BFFs--holding hands and going on all the rides together.

Aaron's sneering, but he's just trying to play it cool. He was in love with this foot-long corn dog.

We've got it good in Seattle, but we were sad to leave California. Good times.
