A Busy Day

When Simon was born his pediatrician listened to his heart and could hear what they say is a heart-mur-mur, so we took him to the Pediatric Cardiologist in Wichita. They did an ectogram and did a sonogram to see the heart directly. The Cardiologist found that Simon had 2 holes in his heart, but they didn't look bad and he said they normally close on their own.

So, Simon had his 1 year doctor's appointment with the Cardiologist to get his heart-mur-mur listened to. It's amazing what they can find and do these days! The nurse, Cynthia, was very good, she had to put sticky things on his chest and abdomen and hook wires to them and Simon has to stay completely still, so they can get a good reading on the ectogram. That doesn't happen very often, they usually have to be sleeping but, it didn't bother him at all.

The Doctor came in and talked to me about it, his ectogram looked the same, but he couldn't hear the heart-mur-mur anymore. He said as long as Simon is able to eat, sleep, poop, and play, then he should be fine. We go back next year to do another annual check. Justin and I thank God for taking care of Simon's heart and keeping him healthy!

Cynthia, the nurse, shared with me that her Mom's 6th Anniversary was yesterday, when she lost her fight with cancer. Cynthia said her Mom was finally able to be pain free, see, and she was finally home! It was so nice to hear her story. God works in such mysterious ways and through people that He helps us to have HOPE in our lives!

After Simon's appointment, we went to Gailitia Hospital. A friend from work had Heart Surgery on Wednesday morning and he was recovering from that. So Simon brought his sweet smile to help cheer Darrold up a little bit!

After that, we headed to the mall...I don't know when the last time was when I went to the mall to actually shop. So I went to my all time favorite store...Maurice's! I found some really cute clothes and the salesperson was excellent help! I got a couple of different outfits that I can wear on my trip to Venezuela next weekend.

My parents went last May and it changed something in my Dad's heart and he wanted his children to help give to the children or elderly in Venezuela that are less fortunate than us. So in November, they had asked us, my 5 sisters, my brother-in-law, my sister's friend, and one of my nephews, and I, to go to Venezuela. They did ask Justin if he wanted to go, but I didn't feel comfortable leaving Simon here without one of us here to take care of him. We sponsor 6 children and 2 elderly in Venezuela, each family has one and my parents have two. (Dad is currently looking for someone else to sponsor another child, if anyone is interested, just let me know.)

This trip will give us the opportunity to possibly meet who we sponsor and see where they live. I went to Venezuela about 10 years ago and I'm not sure, but I don't think that it has changed that much. To be honest, I'm scared and worried, Venezuela isn't the safest place to go, but for some reason I believe that GOD wants to show me and my family something and that is why he is sending us all together. I do know that this will be a very hard week, as I will be away from Simon and Justin and I will miss them dearly.

So will you PLEASE PRAY for my family while we are on our trip in Venezuela, that we stay healthy and don't get Swine Flu and that we keep our eyes, ears, and hearts open to what GOD wants to show us while we are there. And also, that everything will be okay with Justin and Simon, and that Simon sleeps for Grandma Schrag at night, while Justin is working.

Well, we're up for another busy day tomorrow. My niece, Michelle, is graduating from Nursing school!
