Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun Memorial Day weekend with our friends, The Wakefields, at their lake house.  We had a great time just hanging out, swimming, riding on the boat, eating, seeing goats, Cade’s first tube ride, watching Emily ski (she lost a bet) etc.  We were able to meet up with some other friends for lunch and the boys got to feed these enormous catfish off the dock.  Huge Fish!  Cade’s favorite part was definitely “Mr. Reed driving SUPER fast on the boat!”  He is still talking about it.  Cade and Travis got to share a room, which lead to hours of “talking” for them before they finally fell asleep.  Graham was up at the crack o’ dawn on Sunday morning… which lead to Keith driving him around for 45 minutes.  We are so thankful for sweet friends and we love that our boys are growing up together.  It’s funny how God takes you full circle to find your friends… Emily was in my pledge class at Baylor but we didn’t become friends until we were in Dallas in the same group at MOPS 4 years ago.  Crazy how life goes….

Few Pics from the weekend…

The Randoms… and some iPhone pics

ImageImage

We’ve had a fun filled spring!  Cade ended his 1st year of preschool with a fun water party.  He absolutely loved his teachers.  When we had the school wide picnic he wanted to go sit with Mrs. Ross, not his mommy, which I love!  Of course, you want your children to love their teachers and he did.  I’m so thankful for a great school that Cade loves to go to.

Cade and I got to go see “The Fresh Beat Band”, which is one of his favorites on Nick Jr.  He loved it and danced the whole time.  It was a special Mommy-Son date…. I cherish those sweet dates so much. We got skittles at his request and enjoyed the concert.  Fun times had by all!!!

We had a great night out with Annalisa and John at Keith’s favorite restaurant, Neighborhood Services to ring in his 34th birthday.  If you ask him, it was all he wanted… just the best burger in Dallas in his opinion from NHS.  🙂  I’m so thankful for Keith… He’s a simple man who knows what he wants.  I’m also thankful for him because he is so kind, giving, generous, great GREAT FATHER, and a wonderful husband.  What more could I ask for?!

Let’s see… what else have we done?  We’ve gone out to our favorite mexican food restaurant and enjoyed the patio before it get’s too hot (remember this is May…not really July when all this went down), we went to the Arboretum with friends to see Emerald City (Awesome!), and we’ve had fun playing at friend’s houses.  Summer is just around the corner… and we are excited!

Let the Games Begin!

Image

Cade finished strong with soccer and then t-ball started… let the sporting begin.  I’m just thankful I don’t have to plan out practices yet…. 1 game a week is plenty for this momma!  However, I love seeing my little man in a uniform. He’s so precious!  I never thought, being a boy mom, that I would get the same feeling I think I would get if I had a little girl in a dance outfit (I know…sounds stupid that I think of those things…) BUT the first time I saw Cade in his soccer uniform I got a little teary-eyed.  It’s just precious to me.  He loves t-ball and is pretty good at it so it has been fun watching him play.  Most of his little friends are on his team and it’s just fun to watch them play together.  Coach Brown, which is one of our good friends, is Cade’s coach.  Few funny things: 1. His coach has been out of town and Keith was the coach last week.  Cade kept confirming that Keith was going to be “The head coach” last week.  (Like it makes a difference) 2. This week when we were heading out the door for the game, Cade said, “Daddy, I’m so glad Coach Brown is going to be back this week.” I guess he likes Coach Brown as “head coach” better… He’s a chatty one, that Cade.  Keith said they were in the huddle at the end of the game yesterday and Cade was only wanting to talk about the schedule of the season for the next few weeks.  He wanted to get it all laid out and straight for the team… He’s so funny.  Graham on the other hand, just wants to play some ball!  I literally have to stand with him and throw the baseball back and forth during the entire game.  He would give anything to be able to go play with the big boys.  We love these sweet times with the boys… being little and getting to pick and choose what we do.  It’s fun that it isn’t too busy with sports yet and Graham gets to go support his brother.  Life is good!!

Hilary was Paige’s Maid of Honor and gave, hands down, the BEST speech I’ve ever heard and I’ve heard a thousand in my day as a wedding planner.  It was perfect for Paige and Aaron!  Look at their faces… pure joy! Love it!
