Friends

Image
Ande has three girls in the neighborhood that are a year older than her.  They play together  a lot.  Micaela is her BFF( she is holding the hello kitty umbrella).  The other two girls are Cora(White shirt) and Theresa.  They have a great imagination.  They like to make up plays for us to watch, play house and make art together.

We came home from camping Memorial weekend and Micaela had learned to ride a two wheel bike.  Well Ande was excited and up for the challenge.  Jason took off the training wheels and she immediately started riding her bike.  She is now on a bigger bike.  Ande loves riding her bike.  She is really fast too.

Summer isn't summer without water.  Their are two pools in our neighborhood.  It seems like the girls are always running from pool to pool, playing in the sprinkles or having water gun fights with the boys.  Swimming suit is one of the daily outfits.

This is a picture of most of the kids in our neighborhood.  Ande and her friends have been doing a lot of lemonade/water stands.  This day they got a lot of extra help.  They sell water for a one cent and lemonade for a quarter.  Our street is very quite so it is just the neighborhood kids buying from each other.  They sure have fun together.

Eli 's Day Camp

Here are the boys in our den.  We had a day camp on June 22.  We left at 7 am to be in Rochester by 8 for check in.  I wish I would of know that they allotted an hour for check in.  We were there pretty close to 8 so we had a hour to wait.  It was a cool morning.  Eli was snuggling up to me to keep warm.  Every boy but one had a parent with him.  That was very helpful.
They had a lot of fun activies planned for the boys.

The first activity was archery and BB guns.  Eli was looking forward to this one the most.  He had a lot of fun shooting.  Next they went on a nature walk.   Lunch was chicken tacos.  I was impressed with how much food they had and how good it was . We went swimming after lunch.  We were glad that our swimming time was after lunch because the morning was so cool.  It had warmed up a lot by swimming time.

The last part of the day was an obstacle course.  Eli had a lot of fun doing this.  He kept doing the course over and over.

We had a fun day.  By time the day was over I was looking forward to a shower.  It was so humid.  I sure enjoy doing scouting with the Eli.

We took our annual memorial day camping trip to Wild river state park.  It was a 2 hour drive north of where we live.  It is right on the St, Croix river.  It was a very pretty area.  Usually the we go with my parents, brother and sister.  Well they had other things going on.  Our family friend the Humphries camped with us.  It was there first time camping as a family.  They had fun and enjoyed it.  They have a 1 and a 2 year old.  The little girls were getting fussy so they decided not to stay the second night.

My parents came up for the day on Sunday.  We went on a hike.  Maddie and Ande got a little tired towards the end.  It was a beautiful hike except when we came back we found a lot of ticks.  We finally decided to leave pretty early the next day because the ticks were so bad.  I found a tick stuck on each of the kids.  It seemed like they were crawling all over us.  I don't mind bugs.  Ticks always freak me out.  Jason bought his fishing boat.  The boys went fishing down the St. Croix river.  My parents canoed down with them.  It was a 10 miles ride down the river.  I stayed back with the girls and took a nap.  That was refreshing.  It was nice being out in nature.

3 Piggy Opera

Eli's class put on a 3 Piggy Opera.  It was a 20 minute Opera about the 3 little pigs.  They did a great job.  I was really impressed.  Eli was one of the narrators.  He knew is part well.  He even sang and did the actions.  That is an improvement for Eli.  Usually when he does some type of school performance he just stands there.

Here he is getting ready for his part.

When I got the note about what he was suppose to wear I told him he could bring what we had but I wasn't buying new stuff for it.  Well, we didn't have a straw hat or a bandanna.   He kept telling me that he didn't want to be the only kid not wearing the whole costume.  He even told me he wouldn't do it if he wasn't dressed in the complete costume.  So we took a trip to Wal-Mart to get him a straw hat and a bandanna.  I might be bias but I think he was the cutest one there.
