Sunday Bests

The girls just looked too pretty in their little dresses to not snap a few pictures before church!
This was last Sunday.

All Smiles

Macie is such a smily girl these days.  It doesn't take much attention to get her to smile.  She also has quite a lot to say too!

First Hair Cut...Goodbye Mullet!

We finally decided it was time to chop off Callie's curly little mullet, better known as the Carol Brady.  I was not brave enough to do it so I waited until we got to Harlingen so my mom could do it.  I forgot to take a good after picture when her hair was dry so I'll have to add that later.

You'd never know that her hair was half way down her back when it's curly.

Just a little bathtime fun and a haircut!

Surprise!

Charlie had to go to North Carolina a couple weeks ago for a week so instead of staying home, I decided we would surprise Grandpa for his birthday!  I was a little nervous about the drive from College Station to Harlingen by myself, but it went as well as I could have imagined.  I got a little video when "Paw Paw" walked in the door.  He had an inkling that we might show up because my mom told him she had a surprise for his birthday and called him a couple times to see when he was coming home.  Then, I ran right in front of the door trying to get in position for the video, and he saw me.  Oh well! The surprise was not as much of a surpise as we would have liked, but I think he enjoyed it just as much!  We had a great time in Harlingen and actually ended up staying 2 weeks because Charlie had to go to Nacadoches for work 2 days after he got home from NC.
(I always forget when using this camera to video that you have to keep it upright so crane your necks! Sorry!)

I also got to surprise Nicole by showing up to a meeting she was having for the birth center.  It was a good thing I got there before she started presenting because when she saw me, she said, "Shut up! What are you doing here?!"  It was classic!  It was so fun to surprise my dad and Nicole because I don't get to do things like that very often so be prepared...you never know when I'll just show up at your doorstep.

Two Months Old

Macie is 2 months old!  I'm not going to say that it has flown by b/c we've had quite a few sleepless nights which make for long days, but she is precious and makes it all worth it.  We're hoping for a real breakthrough soon though! :)

At 2 months, Macie:
-is smiling and cooing a lot.  It is too cute!
-as mentioned above, is not sleeping so great.  Every few nights she has a great night, but then others she is literally up almost all night.  On these nights, she usually will finally fall into a sound sleep around 5 or so.  Luckily for me, Callie has been sleeping most mornings until about 9:30.  Charlie has been amazing and has helped me during the night even though he has to get up for work.  It is just too physically and mentally exhausting to do it alone! *Update-I wrote this last week, and this week she has been doing a lot better so I'm hoping it stays this way!
-likes her paci.  I, on the other hand, have a love/hate relationship with it.  It will instantly soothe her, but she instantly freaks out if she looses it unless she is in a deep sleep.  I'm looking forward to the day when she can hold it in easier, and even better, can find it by herself.  Unfortunately, we are months away from that though.
-is already outgrowing a lot of her 0-3 month sleepers because she is so long.  This makes me a little nervous for her.  I just hope she isn't as tall as her dad!
-is eating really well and is a quick eater.  She eats every 3 hours or so during the day and will go between 4 and 5 hours a lot of times at night.
-is a laidback, easy-going baby during the day.  She is very content and is rarely fussy.  She likes her carseat so far which is a blessing.

I'll be taking her to her 2 month checkup soon so we'll get to see where she falls on the charts.  Of course, she will also be getting shots so I'm not looking forward to that part at all!

Macie is a sweet baby, and we can't wait to watch her grow into a precious little girl!  She fits right into our little family and we all love her so much!

These pictures below aren't the best, but it was the best I could get that day.  My good camera was charging so I'll try to get better ones after we get home from Grandpa and Grandma's.  She was not happy to be put in the chair.
