4 Months Old

Macie is 4 months old today!  A very crazy 4 months!  Aside from all the many things that Macie has learned and how much she has changed and grown, she has already lived in 3 houses and technically 3 cities.  Fortunately, we are now in our house that we will live in for a while.  (I know many of you are really wanting pictures of the house, but you know I'm going to wait until it is finished.  Right now, it is still at the stage where it's going to get worse before it gets better!)

At 4 months, Macie:
-is a very happy, smiley baby.  I think we're going to have another easy-going girl.
-is still being swaddled and falls asleep with her paci.  She is sleeping pretty well, usually only waking up once a night.  She is a night owl though, not really settling into a good sleep until about 10 or 10:30.
-can roll from her tummy to her back and rolls from her back to her side.  I feel a little guilty because I know I don't give her enough tummy time though.
-played in her jumparoo for the first time just yesterday and liked it.  I know she'll have more fun in it in a month or so, but I am using every tool I have to keep her occupied while I try to unpack.
-loves her baths.  She sits so contently and stares up at me with the sweetest look on her face.
-is reaching for and grabbing toys that are put in front of her.
-is giggling a little.  She is ticklish under her neck, especially at bathtime!

We will be going back to the dr. soon for a checkup so hopefully she does just as well with shots this time as she did last month.

Macie is our little "Angel Girl" which Callie has picked up on.  I love it when Callie calls her that.  We have been blessed with two amazingly sweet girls, and we couldn't possibly love them anymore!

So Macie is smiley until I try to get her 4 month pictures...

Happy Easter

I hope you had a wonderful weekend celebrating the resurrection of our Saviour!  We definitely did!  Charlie got Friday off so we were able to work a little on the house and have lunch with Uncle Tom and his family, Paw Paw and Jo before heading to the farm in the evening.  We were excited to spend the night and next day with Mike, Susan, Ariel, Avery and Alex, who Callie and I had not seen since Callie was 2 months.  It was so fun to see the cousins interact.  Alex was really sweet to Callie.  My favorite moment of the weekend was when Callie fell off the couch, and Alex was very concerned and asked if she was okay.  She was wearing a jean skirt that stays up sometimes when bends down and it was up.  When Alex saw this, he went over and said, "Let me fix your dress," and pulled it down for her.  My girls may not have a protective older brother, but it looks like their cousins will happily take that role! :)

Image
Grandma Susie had hard boiled eggs for the kids to decorate.  I missed out on the action, but from what I hear, there was a lot of action!  Susan had to stay on her toes to keep Callie and Alex from tipping the cups over.  They were very curious and wanted to know what was happening to the eggs.

Callie and Alex knew exactly what to do when the hunt began!

It was a very hot hunt, but Callie didn't care!

Macie hung out with Paw Paw in her "Marine Princess" camo.

After our egg hunt, we headed home.  On Sunday morning, Grammy, Papa and Aunt Morgan joined us for church and lunch.  It was a wonderful service and Grace Bible.  Then, we went home to make a honey-cured ham, homemade macaroni and cheese, green beans and rolls.  It was the first meal I made in my new kitchen so I was little nervous about the outcome using a new stove and oven, but it turned out pretty yummy, if I do say so myself!  We had a wonderful weekend and were so blessed to spend it with family.

Callie was egg-cited (Sorry, I couldn't resist.) to see what the Easter Bunny brought her!  She couldn't even wait to get dressed!

My Little Skinny Minnie liked her Easter basket!

We snapped a few pictures before we left for church (and before lipstick...Eek!).
This one is with Aunt Morgan and Papa.

Playdough Playtime

**Just found this post that I forgot to publish.**
While at Grandpa and Grandma's house, we pulled out the playdough, and Callie really enjoyed playing with it.  She would sit at the table by herself for about 30 minutes at a time, although she enjoyed all the hearts, balls, snakes and cats I made very much! :)  To my surprise, she didn't even mix the colors too much.
Image
She was too enthralled to look at the camera.

This is the look I got when I told her to look at the camera and smile. T.R.O.U.B.L.E.

Now she is laughing at the last look that she gave me.

Oo La La

On Saturday, we celebrated Maddie Grace's and Callie's birthday with a French poodle themed party.  Maddie Grace turned 1 on the 5th, and Callie turned 2 on the 7th.  We had a great time celebrating with family!  I am posting a lot of pictures since we took over 200 so I'll get right to them.

I made the cupcakes but found these adorable poodle cupcake toppers on Etsy.

Not surprisingly, Kristi did a fantastic job decorating.

Poor Cade got sick that morning and confined to his room.  He got to watch Maddie dig into her cupcake from the balcony though.

Katie and I were the two photographers so we got a picture together so we'd have proof we were there. :)

Shelby and Bailey love to pose for the camera!  Two precious girls!

MG and Callie were blessed with way too many gifts!  Callie has been enjoying her new toys this week!
I have so many pictures that blogspot cut me off.  I'll post the rest of them soon!

It was a lot of fun having Callie and Maddie Grace's birthday party together, not to mention a lot easier!  I know when they get older they will want their little friends and have an opinion about the theme so we thought this was a great year to have a combined celebration.  I owe a big thanks to Kristi for all her work to put the party on and for hosting!  We had a blast!
