I can't believe my last baby (unless God has a miracle planned for us) is 6 months old! It has both flown by and crawled at the same time, if that makes sense. As much as I love a new, cuddly baby, I'm excited to be at this stage with Layne where he interacts with us, giggles and explores. He is such a sweet baby with a hint of feisty which he expresses through grunts right now. Up until this point, I haven't seen a difference between my girls and Layne, but I know the adventures of having a boy are just around the corner. I'm excited to add cars, superheroes, and legos to our toy box!
At 6 months, Layne:
-weighs 17lbs.5oz. (46%)
-measures 27.5" (I want to measure him again bc that is only 1/4" in 2 months. Dr. said he may be about to have a growth spurt so that could be it too.)
-is rolling all over the place now. Just in the last few weeks he really started holding his head up well. Then, he took off rolling everywhere. I think we're still at least a couple months away from crawling (hopefully.)
-has transitioned out of a swaddle, but he's still not the best sleeper. Some nights he does pretty well, sleeping at least 5 hour stretches, but I would say, most nights he is still waking up every 3-4 hours. :/ The third night of not being swaddled he slept 8 hours straight, and I thought that was the start of a new pattern. Not so much. Grandparents read no further: I think he's going to have to have some tough love soon.
-got his two bottom teeth this month!
-can sit up for a bit while holding himself up like a tripod.
-has tried a couple of foods but not with great success. He liked processed fresh banana the best but has also tried sweet potatoes, applesauce and carrots.
-still has 1 blocked tear duct and will most likely have to get it probed like Macie did. It was a quick process with her and help clear it up almost right away.
Sometimes it's hard to enjoy the day to day with 3 kids 4 and under, but I know we are truly blessed with beautiful, healthy children. I cherish the gift God has given Charlie and me. Layne is the perfect addition to our family and now we feel complete!
