Every day I think I'll have something worthwhile to post about, and every day I almost do. Almost. As you can imagine, our lives revolve around adoption news. Just one final step is keeping us from booking our flights, so it feels like that one thing has EVERYthing in limbo. I never was great at that game.
Our super duper tentative travel dates are July 28 ish through August 8 ish. This would be ideal as far as I'm concerned, but it all depends on when Vee's passport is ready in Bangalore. It could be farther into August before we go. No worries other than Luke starts school on August 10. We're fairly certain he'll go with us even if he has to miss a few days of school. Remembering how to sit in a chair quietly or seeing the Taj Mahal in person? Not a tough choice.
We are keeping gloriously busy while we wait, though. Jake went to Ethiopia for 12 days, and then he and I were able to sneak away for a few days without the boys to attend the Southern Baptist Convention and Pastors' Conference. There are no "wild on SBC" episodes being filmed, but we had a great time hanging out together. I felt it was my obligation to commune with the Lord pool-side while he attended business sessions. It was the least I could do.
We're also trying to make the most of our last few weeks as a family of just 4. An impromptu trip to Kentucky, lots of swimming, and lots of time squishing ourselves on one piece of furniture in the living room. It reminds me how sweet every phase of life is. What on earth did we do with all our time before children??

Not forgotten
Last week Jake had the opportunity to visit the Transition Home in Ethiopia where Dosen lived for 4 months. The nannies there were unbelievably warm to us when we brought him home in 2008, and our little Dosen was obviously loved. We never imagined, though, that after hundreds of children have passed through their arms, they would remember their "Wondi."

I have no words to describe her beautiful expression of love. These photos are a treasure.
